Yes, but that's not NYNY. It's some conservative cluster progression..
The draw of course is you lose on back and forth situation which happens way too much. You need the 2 wins in a row.

Brilliant. That was one lucid and informative post.

    It goes to show why 2 - 1, 1, 1, 1, etc... makes more sense. Or even 2, 1, and done. for me it's 1, 1, 1, etc... until it's 5's.

I just had to respond to this one idea. Going after 2, 3, or 4 in a row is mathematically debilitating. Going after more first try wins than losses is the secret. You win the session by grinding it out. It's very close to 50/50 odds. When you need to get 2 in a row right it's 25%. Three in a row is 12.5%. This method digs holes.

Actually if you just go after just one first try win off of each winning streak at the big bet price and then ride the rest of them in that streak at the small bet price then you build up the wins that counter balance any losses at the small bet price. ...and you get your three net big bets in the aggregate sooner on average. Your best odds are with the first try bet.

    Grinding and Gambling don't mix.
To make it clearer the Grinder grinding is not the same as the Gambling grinding.
The Grinder grinding abandons the idea of winning big. He seeks longevity. He is the Flea or the Casino Rat.
The Gambling grinder is the one who usually rolls high and he goes to Casinos usually on busman trips. He is the thinking player grinding to see whether situation permits him to win big with House money and not his own money.
The NYNY is an excellent way of using House money to shoot for the moon.

If one can concentrate and win that Ist bet, there wouldn't be any discussion.
I only agree IF that 1st bet is House money and not yours.

My preference goes with NYNY (212) over the 1-2-2 .

Scared to die, but willing to go for it anyway.

    A rich man's thrills.

As a poor carpenter I managed to spend 30 years as a Rock/Ice/Mountain Climber, Pilot, Windsurfer, Skier, SCUBA Diver, Martial Arts, Golfer, Archer, and aspiring gambler. I took almost all of those activates to life threatening levels. I know all about risk. As a gambler I know about learning to be good at it and the pitfalls of learning what works and what does not work. Greed makes you want more. That desire makes you take risks. You start out making mistakes like chasing your losses. You make bad timing choices to get back to even. All these things amount to bad MM. Just like greed, "risk" is a reward all its own. I'm aware of the Elegant Pattern & the Global Effect. I invented the terms. They are different than taking a blind risk. They are a highly calculated risks based on rare occurrences. But letting the reward of risk drive you into bad MM choices is another thing. Just like the motivation of greed, it can wreck your plans.

So I can say prepared to win or skilled to win as apposed to "scared to win."

I know this sounds defensive. But is it?

I'll keep my wits and the fact that I'm still a poor man. I'm happy enough to let the rich man take the risks.

    Mansei ,,

An unimpeachable source referred to he 122 as a Martingale . I happen to be familiar with the FULL 122 system . Better off with the 212.

Different classifications I had long espoused from the betselection days were:-
    1) Dare to win, scared to los
    2) Dare to lose, scared to win
    3) Dare to win, dare to lose
    4) Scared to win, scared to lose

And I am an advocate of ‘“Dare to win, scared to lose”. And therefore the mild progression when winning and am anti negative Marty when losing.

It has nothing to do with the present state of material wellness of a person and his past experiences which rounded him. Whether a person is an adrenaline junkie, on the baccarat table, humility is a pre requisite or the game will humble you.

Physical risks one may take with his activities is impactful for himself. One will never know the real meaning of risk, calculated or otherwise until he becomes an entrepreneur. Believe me you. Nothing come close. The choice is personal. One may bungee jump in New Zealand or parachute jump off an aeroplane 10,000 feet in the air or make love in the air and be a member of the Mile High Club, carries thrills to different people but try, go be an entrepreneur. The term was missing from the long list of your resume.

I only wrote one sentence from my strategy book to prompt a long response and embedded sarcasm. It is nothing personal. To win at baccarat, one must dare to win so that there is enough bankroll to withstand the Shar Chi or Killing Phase which will surely come. And during the Shar Chi Phase, one must be scared to lose to protect the bankroll. My 2 cents worth. It boils down to Money Management. Global Effect and Elegant Patterns notwithstanding. Please. Be guided accordingly.

What I meant was any sort of positive progression should be used only with House money. You grind with your own money. These are the words of John Patrick himself. He is big on regressing bets after a win and big on hedging bets in Casino Craps.
Reason being simple. 1 win 1 loss you are behind with 1, 2,2

    Judge,

I would consider stopping at the last of the 4. If a loss occurs during the series it means back to 2 the beginning .

It is after the outcomes and decisions already happened that one can only analyze. The only thing that is clear cut about your approach is you chose to bet higher after wins thus dare to win and chose to bet lower or same bet after losses thus scared to lose. This is for description only because there are Bet Selection trends and there are Win/Loss trends aka Luck trends. When you ONLY adhere to one mentality, it's called a Sitting Duck. Your philosophy is based on events that is loosely formed but explain in a very definite form. Exactly after how many loses in a row is considered Sar Chi ? What if your Luck trend is not in the form of runs but in the form of blocks? And then there is this See How it Goes with a lot of Impromptus.
In short , the Elements have to line up for you to prosper because you are too deep into your reasonings. Over analysing is the end result.
You have the mindset of a High Roller who IMO engaging too much gambling and less grinding. Absolutely nothing wrong . YIng Yang is very much alive in Baccarat. All wins and losses comes in different shapes and forms.
