For some who may not know S = TBL and O = OTBL. Now OTBL was ECD's favorite go to placement when there was nothing else and for good reason. Nevertheless, this has nothing to do with ECD or any of his stuff.

If you change the shoe to S and O you end up with the same pattern structure as P and B in the long run though it may look different. However, if you change the way you look at them you can see that if you develop certain rules it can do pretty well in shoes that aren't very patterned. s.

But you're right, Craps, it does, in fact, give a unique perspective. There are a few rules but the main point is that most shoes are not real patterned and when they are those patterns don't last that long. There are rules to bet into a pattern under certain circumstances but by default what wins non-patterned shoes is betting the Minority of what happened the last three. OOS bet S. OSO bet O. SSS bet O. OOO bet S. Like that. Here is a sample I just picked at random and played it out using MINORITY bet placment.

We can talk more about it if people are interested.

When do you bet Minority and when Majority? What are the rules for selecting Minority? OSO bet S and not O in the sample above, obviously typo.

Yes typo sorry. When to switch is always the problem isn't it?

Probably a good idea to play 50 or 100 shoes, scrutinise them, and see what makes sense.

A friend of mine developed and copyrighted this method about 20 years ago.

Is this the way you play? Is your friend still playing this way? I have played about 25 shoes so far. I played the way you suggested where you play the minority. It has merit. Will continue to work on it.
    Thanks

I have used it many years ago since I've had it for about 20 years. But I don't use it.

Yes it has merit. After while you get to see what it loses 2 and why you may want to switch to Majority at different points.

Why reinvent the wheel? Is it available free or for a fee?

It's not mine and I was asked not to post the manual. It's just another "platform" that looks at the game from a different perspective than most do so I thought it would be interesting. It solves some of the problems associated with the well known TBL and OTBL placements. If you fool around with it you will see that it does pretty well in un-patterned shoes BUT requires some switches. Like John-O used to always say, you have to understand what it loses to.

You could always try the double helix switch, not complex once you get your head around it. The reversal at the end is a little tricky so that’s when you can give back your gains from the dh if you become complacent, I keep in mind my personal belief that a shoe/ game section is predominantly chop as stated previously so I do jump a little too early at times but find the switch of dh ok to catch at the end.
    Cheers
