I went to law school (unfortunately) but thank God I'm not a lawyer.

I say unfortunately because well, the rule of law is a pipe dream nowadays isn't it.

But my job is related to legal stuff.

I should've followed my heart and gone for statistics or math which is what I really wanted, but everyone said it did not paid well. Maybe they were right. Anyway. Yes I am from Brazil and living in Brazil.

We have scheduled some meets with the legal firms there through referrals from EY. Perhaps you can recommend a suitable legal firm for us in Rio. It doesnt have to be in Rio. The guys will be traveling

 

It depends on what branch of law do you need. Honestly I'm not that savvy with the law firms outside my area of specialization (and even that lol), and honestly, IMHO, even the best ones do not do so great work all the time. I've seen so many mistakes. And that's because the bar exam is really hard. My advice is, if you do business in BR, try your best not to need a law firm. A good accountant is worth 100 excellent lawyers. And if you do need a lawyer, make sure you just make a deal and don't go to the actual justice system. Seriously. You are safer flipping a coin. That's what I heard from a judge, actually.

 

Pedro, in a foreign country its better to have a lawyer. Nobody wishes to end up in court. But its a potential investment involving certainly more than a few k so my guys dont wish to run afoul of Brazilian laws, knowingly or unknowingly.

For sure, we are looking at corporate lawyers. Anyway, just thought it was an opportunity to make contact for you and business wise it could end up putting more steaks on your table than baccarat. Anyways was just sussing things out when people come to my home...

They are basically everywhere in the world and they are considered the top firm in employment defense.
