Is that a six deck shoe as 66dealt hands seems short. Perhaps the deep cut if it’s an 8 deck. Hard work either way.
Max burn 10 cards don’t make the 20 odd short fall in available hands. As 80 hands give or take is the normal. Cheers

That section on resetting back to +1 was driving me crazy. I'm was sort of in a programming fried state when I tried to write it. So I know I did id clunky. So it works sometimes and others it adds and extra +1 ($100). But once the software starts going down into the -1 (-$100) or deeper it starts to work right. But when it switches over to Real bets at the -20 trigger it works perfectly. At least I'm trying to confirm that much. It might have a first bet level starting point that needs confirming. But that would be an easy fix.

 

Oh dam you all to hell. Now you post stuff I'd love to contribute to when I have no time... Arrgh.

This is a brief look at what I planned to do and did do.

I planned to program the software from the start, making rule mistakes and a few programming errors along the way. Jae and I go round and round like a couple of cabbies from New York City during rush hour. I wanted, for a change, to show people how communicating with the person that knows the method the best, and how it can be for the programmer trying to figure out what is to be programmed, all with mistakes in programming and communication along the way.

Most people never see this process. If you think it's bad to watch you should see a committee of programmers go at it when they try to solve processes and debug portions that will effect other parts of the application. This is in fact easy. I'm all on my own so I can't duck behind anyone when I fuck up. And I did.

But it's getting very close to being a half assed simulation of a version of Oscar's Grind.

You should actually start from the beginning when you get a chance. Enjoy yourself.

 

OK. There are only two questions to get resolved here.

1.) the Vig taken out actually does add up to a huge number in 100 series.

2.) It's not that the Vig is much smaller in each session. It's that in 100 sessions (series) played, the sim shows a lot of lost trials.

I think that the sim loses a lot and I think that none of the players trying OG are losing at all. At least it sounds that way.

So I wonder if they are playing by these rules?

My math is not wrong. The app executes the rules fairly well once it starts down on its way to the trigger at -20. I wonder if most players do a correction on the next bet value on its way to -20?

Without these questions being answered I'm stuck.

 

How far does your sim go?

in some of the results you’ve posted, I see -16,000. - 48,000. Random losses that I don’t quite understand. If I saw a number that said -200,000, I’d understand that one.

The only negative number I should be seeing is -200,000. That means the series busted.

Even with commission taken into account, there would rarely be a session that goes into the negative, maybe a few hundred or a thousand or so, but if you’re seeing commission add up to tens of thousands in a series, then something is wrong, because most likely, a 2,000 unit bankroll would have already busted.

 

Geez, that's a monster sized clue. No wonder it's goofy looking.

I have the sim ending all series that reach -2,000.

You keep going all the way to -200,000 if you have to?

 

I couldn't wait. I'll have to raise the repeat end point from 300 hands. Guess what sports fans? Except for a few series, as Jae calls them, that hit the 300 hands limit, the dang thing wins every series. That might be the secret to this.

So are people playing with an adjustment for the last Virtual bet to balance out at -20? Or are they just going with where the bet value is at the time that real bets are triggered?

I need these little details. Just trying to get this project done.

 

I don't know where I got -$2,000.

Just for reference I was seeing 30% of all series go bust at -$2,000.

 

Wow, I just ran 100 tests by pressing the singe series button 100 times and all but 1 won with it going bust at right around -200,000. A few series timed out at 1000 hands. So I would need to raise that value to a high enough number so that a series keeps going until it wins or goes bust at $200,000. '

Now this thing is getting real fun.

 

Just ran another 100 tests with the limit set to 1500 hands per series. It never timed out. It lost once at -200,000

It won every other series. This is more like it. When it does go deep it's around 17,000 to 35,000 and it wins anyway.

I'll have to see if this will run under the 100 series test section. If it does it will add up the wins and the Vig and show it.

 

Yeah... that’s been my method all along. A 2,000 unit bankroll at hundred dollar units. $2,000 would be a 20 unit bankroll. That’s not gonna survive.

 

That’s probably more like it. Losing once out of a hundred isn’t bad at all. That’s still a million dollar profit after commission.

It looks like it might go bust about every 400 to 500 series. But that is not tested to death.
