    MONEY MANAGEMENT
“A fool and his money are soon parted”

To some of the people reading this, this will probably be basic knowledge.

    Let’s begin.

    Proper Bankroll
“ALWAYS PLAY WITH MONEY YOU CAN AFFORD TO LOSE”.
Yes, yes yada yada. I know what you guys are gonna say, but it’s ALWAYS worth mentioning.

Make your cash withdrawals at your local bank branch beforehand. Don’t use the ATM’s at the casino those fees are getting out of hand and leave all credit/debit cards in the car.

    Chip Management
I bring enough cash for a buy-in of minimum of 5 stacks. I also like to organize my chips in a certain way.

    If I’m using singles ($1) denominations I just need a $100 bankroll. If I’m using nickels ($5) I need a $500 bankroll, if using quarters $2,500 bankroll.

Once the dealer hands me my (5) stacks, I like to break down each stack into two stacks of (10). One stack (10) units equals one spin. I now have enough for ten spins.

    Pocket Your Profits
Humans as a species are greedy creatures. As a gambler, we should be greedy with our profits.

I’m an inside bet type of player. I like to play the top two payouts: straight up and splits, or a combination of the two.

For this discussion I’ll be using my basic flat bet strategy using (10) units, covering ten numbers straight up per spin.

Payout for a straight up bet is 35:1.

My payout structure for each domination:

    Single $1
    Total bet per spin: $10
    Win: $35
Payout: (1) value $25 green quarter chip that I keep, (10) coloured chips to keep me in the game, and my initial bet on the table I’ll give to the croupier as a tip.

    Nickel $5
    Total bet per spin: $50
    Win: $175
Payout: (1) value $100 black chip that I keep, (15) coloured chips to stay in the game, and tip the dealer my initial bet.

    Quarters $25
    Total bet per spin: $250
    Win: $875
Payout: keep (1) $500 purple value chip, (15) coloured units. Ummm idk if I want to tip the croupier a quarter but I’ll throw in something.

    Set Up Win/Lose Targets
I’m kinda mixed about this topic. Don’t get me wrong every player should have a win/lose target. The issue I have is when people say walk away if your starting bankroll drops more than 20-30%. I mean if your starting bankroll is $300, and you lose $100 off the bat then you should walk. I see no point in that. Why don’t you just make your starting bankroll $100???

Now, if your winning and your profits are starting to take a hit, now this rule makes sense.

Win targets are definitely a must. Many people say I’m gonna walk once I double my bankroll. Honestly, to double your bankroll using a flat strategy is pretty damn hard. I learned a lot when I started trading in the stock market. I learned not to look at the dollar value gained, but rather the percentage gained. I applied that rule to roulette. I learned to walk away happy with a 30% profit gain on my bankroll.

Also to remember: Not every win has to be a jackpot win. Don’t underestimate the power of compound gains.

So far that concludes this part of the Quest Of The Holy Grail. Stay tuned for the next part.

Money management, win targets, and chip preservation is all worthless if you don't have a winning method.

First and foremost why are you exposing yourself to so much risk when you can just bet $35, win, and walk away. Or if you lose $35 keep playing till you're $35 ahead and walk away. Your goal has to be to win $35, and to get there as quickly as possible. Otherwise you're just another recreational player and the casinos going to take all your money. If you do not have a bankroll that supports a $35 bet, make your goal small enough to fit your bankroll. This is a major flaw for most players. They constantly put their bankroll at risk by over betting it and over playing it. That is exactly how the casino wants you to play because they have an infinite bankroll and an infinite amount of time. You have to beat them at their own game.

If someone has a winning method, then why would they need to set win goals? Wouldn't the best strategy be to play as long as possible?

Yes, and I don’t disagree with you. The issue with outside bets I dislike is the payout. In order to win big you gotta bet big. I prefer smaller bets with maximum payouts. But as
That’s the issue I find betting outside EC’s. In order to win big you gotta bet big. I prefer to bet smaller and reap the bigger payouts. Yes it’s a higher risk but there’s no reward without risk.

According to you, if you’re able to exploit any discrepancies and use it to advantage you just changed the odds in your favour.

I’m not trying to be at a casino for hours at a time. If I could make a full paycheque from work in less than half the time wouldn’t you take that deal? Safe to say prolly 90% of the population would.
Also, didn’t you say “you can’t beat roulette in the long run?”

Is your goal when you go to the buffet to eat as much food as you can hold? Is it your goal when you drive your car just to keep going till you run out of gas? Is your goal when you go to bed at night to sleep as long as possible? My point is everything we do in life involves a goal, short-term or long-term. When you play a game where you have the advantage you need to have a win goal and you should reach that goal as soon as you possibly can. You[re playing an entirely different game with roulette, Caleb. When your table finally starts paying off you can be so far in the hole that your teammates want to strangle you. So you need to play that table when it starts winning until it stops winning. I don't play that way. I don't play unless that table is winning so I'm never in the hole when I start betting. I'm looking for a first bet win so I can leave.

    You just contradicted yourself.

What discrepancies, I don't know what you mean. I wait for the table to be playing my game and then I bet. There are no discrepancies involved.

    Really, Seriously!!!

    Do you actually play?

What if somebody had an edge, but it took an immense amount of concentration, calculations, limited bet opportunities, whatever, yet they are suppose to sit there for 10 hour plus sessions as often as possible, yeah okay.

All I’m saying is I have no interest in placing bets on the outside. If that’s your choice so be it. I’ve played the outside bets in the early stages of my roulette life. I find it more profitable betting on the inside for obvious reasons

All of the bets on the roulette table are equal, no one bet is any better than any other bet mathematically. All the outside bets do is consolidate the inside bets to make it easier for you to play. If you put $18 on red, or choose to put $1 on every red number, how do you figure that's more profitable then making the outside bet. The results are identical. There is zero advantage on the inside over betting on the outside. You have been beguiled by the bigger payoff on the inside, as most people are.

Oh Wow, Alfred the King of roulette, shares his wisdom. Red EC = 18 inside Reds, Good Golly Miss Molly, 50% chance of winning, minus the zero factor 2.7% or whatever it is. What about when we cover 20, 24, 30 or even 6 or 8 numbers, is that still zero advantage on the inside over the outside? With the former it can make it more likely to win the spin than any EC bet?

I mean really Alfred, you haven't really been to many casinos in the last 15 years have you!! Too busy waffling on the internet focusing on being top poster boy more than accumulating wealth??? Ahh well,

There is no advantage to betting the inside bets over the outside bets. I think the only one that's not equal is that stupid basket bet which nobody ever makes. If you think there's an advantage betting on the inside, go for it. The casino loves players like you.

Being an AP and findings patterns why not. You say have an advantage as well, why only 1:1 payout bets

Because they even chance bets pay the same exact amount as the inside bats. If I'm going to bet odd why would I put a bet on all the odd numbers when can do it in one spot on the outside. If you want to bet on numbers that are not covered on the outside bets that's fine, just don't think you're getting an advantage because you're not. The people who designed this game made sure there's no place on the board that you can bet that's any better than any other place. Except for the basket bet, but nobody ever bets that anyway.

They do? I thought straight up bets pays out 35:1?
But I guess you missed the part that I only need to cover (10) numbers at $1 per number for a total of $10/spin.
You doubting me, thinking I can’t do it? You forget I ain’t no mathboy?
Just like you, I see things that other can’t then I…you know “what for the table to be playing my game”.;)
