It has been more than a couple of months since this happened. But, I wanted to share it with dice enthusiasts.

My first gradson had just turned 21. For his twenty first he came to visit his old grandparents.
Him and Pop drank some beer and whiskey, smoked a couple of great cigars.

One of the things we reminisced about was as a toddler and few years after. He would stand on a chair play craps with me on my table out in the garage.

The one thing he wanted to do was go to a casino and play craps.

Not a problem. But, I told him that just like I taught him when he was little we go to win.. Not to play....

The minimums were at 15.00 but even if they were 5.00 we were gonna play the same strategy.

If you shoot. Play the pass line and pick either the 6 or 8 for one place bet.

If you hit the place bet lock up the proffit and now the only risk is your pass line.

Make the pass line now you have no risk and 2 bets up. Place the other of the 6 and 8.

You now have 1 bet at risk 6 or 8 hits pres another hit either lock it up or 5 and 9 dropping the 6 back to a unit.

Now collection time and take odds on the line with winnings.

This is super tight way to play. BUt, if you get on a roll its their money you go up with.

    Well did it work.....

I rolled first. I rolled some numbers. We got on their money. We made some units. OK. And I would have been happy with that.

His roll however was a life changing experience for me......The kid rolled and rolled..... When the time came we had all numbers covered and double odds on the line.

I didn't even have to tell him when I went to color he was already grabbing his stack.....NICE....

Day 2.... Young man says "Pop I know we had to leave but I really wanted to play more." Fine lets go tonight.

The reverse happened. Same plan and I tore it up. Loved hearing my little grown man's voice saying press the 6. Press the 8. Press the 9. Press the 5.

When his turn came he threw about like I did the night before.....Not bad but not like mine and his the night before...... again we colored up.....

Every time I here from him now all he talks about is wanting to hit the casino again with his Pop.....

Moral I guess....teach em the right way young.....

Re read his post. At no point did he say he was teaching him to gamble , complete opposite actually. I read it as a level headed instruction BEFORE the grandson was even 21 years old. Then at 21 years old grandson and pop implemented the basic NON GAMBLING instructions in a live format.

Admittedly the rest of the post was filling, but relevant as it shows, game plan, applied knowledge, discipline and most importantly the love ,care and attention of two humans.
Sorry you missed all that, and embarrassingly enough a random stranger on the interverse had to decode it for you. No wonder the casinoverse makes so much money from so many of you so that so few of us can reap the rewards at will. Thank you Gary. Cheers

Excellent post thank you. I rarely play dice but I totally am impressed with your post as it covers everything. Thank you.
