The Covid rate here in Las Vegas is high due to the OMICRON variant being over 22 percent as of 12- 28-2021.
The casinos are presently still carrying on with business as usual.
However, the mask mandate requires masks to be worn in the casinos and businesses is still in effect.

I misread your inquiry, sorry .... not all the Las Vegas area casinos are open.
Closed casinos: Texas Station, Fiesta Rancho, Fiesta Henderson, East Side Cannery, & Palms.

Presently there are no plans to reopen any of the closed casinos except the PALMS Casino Resort whch was sold to the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians for $650 million and is expected to open in Spring 2022

I don't have any current data on the effects of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 in Las Vegas. However, I can say that in general, the pandemic has had a significant impact on the city's tourism and hospitality industry, with many casinos, hotels, and other businesses experiencing closures or reduced capacity. Las Vegas has implemented various safety measures, including mandatory mask-wearing and social distancing requirements, to help prevent the spread of the virus. It's essential to stay up to date with the latest news and guidelines from reliable sources and to take all necessary precautions to stay safe and healthy.

    Huh?

    Really?

It seems to be pretty much over in stumptown: the only ones wearing masks are Asians and that seems a cultural thing.

The latest variant seems to have defeated both previous infection immunity and the effects of vaccination, so no, Covid ain't done. The question is how severe the latest variant.

Masks appear to have very limited utility, but I wore a KN95 in the planes and at the airport since there's no cost to doing so. My main concern is being exposed to a new variant that hasn't been tracked locally or much in the states, and then I'd be stuck with a novel variant and guessing about outcomes and risk. So when exposed to the proverbial viral cauldron in airports to a destination like LV, I wear a mask even if it's of minimal value.

I mention this because I thought I'd picked up Covid this last trip, but just tested today, and it's negative. I'll test again in two days. I probably just got some combination of bad LV air (featured in the RV this week) and the effects of a red eye and starting my trip in LV off with a jalapeno/pepperoni stromboli at 11 PM in the food court at Horseshoe (Bally's). I thought, what the hell, I'm here to gamble.

    Nonsense.

Red's riding the Democrat's "let's scare everybody into thinking they need Govt guidance and regulations" bus.

My wife and I are both healthy 70+ year olds. We remain unvaccinated, we travel ALL over this country all the time, we frequent many different restaurants--many of which are crowded--and we've been to numerous casinos since this whole thing started.

And guess what? Neither of us have ever had COVID, let alone even a cold or the flu.

The country has thankfully come to learn that COVID is really no more dangerous than the common cold. As with every virus, it depends on an individual's health and immune system.

    Wise up.

Argentino makes his usual idiotic claim that whatever happens to him must have some statistical validity for everyone. Argentino reality, for better or worse, is not the totality of reality.

I am also unvaccinated and have not had Covid (to my knowledge), but wearing a mask is neither a hardship nor a risk, so in tight quarters with people from other countries, I will wear one the majority of the time. Since there is no downside, I don't see the issue. I'm not some 74-year-old geezer who can't jog a mile, gasping for breath while lugging a frail frame up a couple stairs. Masks are not a hardship. They are certainly no massive protection, given the increased infectiousness of newer strains and the larger viral loads of newer strains, but even marginal protection is better than zero.

I'm not one of those pitiful souls who thinks they're making a political statement by wearing or not wearing a mask. Buy a T-shirt, for God's sakes, or fly a flag from your camper if you're intent on wardrobe as political statement.

We got the Omicron booster twice, one in Fall 2022, and again just days ago. Otherwise, stopped wearing masks in Vegas and most anywhere else other than maybe in grocery stores.

In the interest of keeping you alive, I just want to mention that the boosters are pretty much crap at this point. They do almost nothing for you and they carry risks. Except for 55+ folks against the original strains, the vaccines haven't done much good.

Check out the incredible increase in working age deaths after the vaccines went into common use in western countries. Correlation isn't causation, of course, but there is a reason a country with the best health data, Switzerland, has banned the vaccines. There are recent German studies that are reporting unusual pathologies after death for people who received vaccines. But don't take my posting word for it, go check out the studies yourself. Dr. John Campbell's (PhD in nursing education) channel is a good starting point as he links to the relevant academic papers that he reviews.
