There's a certain " cat" that doesn't seemed have the progressive build up with higher denomination as the lower denomination. Why is that? Just Curious .

You used the word "progressive" in your post which peaked my interest as that's my bailiwick...PROGRESSIVES!

However, from your post I can't exactly determine what you're asking.

    Could you elaborate?

And who pray tell is that?

Did you understand the question? I'm having trouble with the syntax and verbiage.

I would like to know why the progressive on the hexbreaker almost never has a high ratio to reset level on the higher denomination vs the low denomination. Eg: $867($565 base) vs $523($ 113 base). It hardly gets higher and i was told it is not because the higher denomination moves faster therefore triggering ( 1x multiplier moves $0.01 vs 5x multiplier moves the progressive $0.05 on the meter.) Thanks!

As far as the reset goes it's arbitrary. In VP different denoms are proportionate. 6/9 JoB quarters cost $1,230 to hit the RF and are 99.54% return. If you're playing a dollar version you can just multiply by four and get a cost of $4,920.

Slots are under no obligation for the denoms to be proportionate in anyway. Typically the higher denoms are better return, but there are no "rules" this has to be the case. The reason higher denoms tend to be better is because casinos have a minimum profit requirement for any machines they put on their floor. A 5 coin dollar slot machine can bring in hundreds of dollars an hour in rake for the casino even at 98.7% return. A penny slot where someone is only betting .25c a pull wouldn't pay for the power to run the slot if it was much better than 92% return.

On multi denom VP machines it's very common to see the lower denoms with worse pay tables. I have seen people playing 6/5 Job Quarters thinking they are losing less, when ironically there was 6/9 Job dollar on the same machine, which is a significantly lower hourly loss rate, even though you're playing more per hand.

So here's the answer to your question I think.

    1) The resets are simply what they want them to be, and the different denominations of this game are likely completely different returns with different JP frequencies. You should treat them as completely different games and you'll need to walk the reels separately and not use any info you collected on one denom on the others.

    2) If the meter rise is the same on the denoms the reason the higher denom is getting up less, is more than likely simply because less pumpers are playing it.

    3) OR: If the hexbreaker goes up based on something you have to get on a pay-line rather than simple coin-in, my strong guess is that the frequency of that progressive raising symbol is different between denoms. I would actually be surprised if the penny, quarter, and dollar version of the game were identical.

Damon Runyon was an earlyt 20th century newspaper man that also wrote short stories. He wrote a lot about gambling and down and outers. Those kind of characters became referred to as Runyonesque. The movie Guys and Dolls with Frank Sinatra and Marlon Brando was based on Runyon's work.

The meters on Hex 3 reset in multiples of 113 and run at 1.5%. All you are seeing is variance.

I've never met Tuna or any of his crew although I seen them in action. Don't know if I knew Mark or not. I played the Mountain Bar at Harvey's extensively but can't remember any of the bartenders names. It was 6/5 Bonus Poker with 1% meters on the 4 Aces, small quads, generic quads. It went positive quite bit. I enjoyed the quad races on those bartops and was quite successful at it.

I was there when the Mountain Bar play got killed. The IGT multi-game video pokers had just came out, 1999. They installed them on the Mountain Bar. The progressive was still there but it was buried among all the other games. That killed its action by the ploppies.

Yep, I was there too, but I think I was in Reno playing a 6/9 JoB dollar at the Eldorado over $12,000 the day the hammer came down.

    Mark Bartholomew was his name.

In my book there a Story about him entitled, "When to Break a Full House."

i know the reset values but i don't understand your statement of running at 1.5%. Does it mean each movement is 1.5%? I really don't think it is variance of the higher denomination's progressive don't rise as high as the lower denom in terms of ratio to the reset value . I don't even need the answer as it does more harm than good. i only wish i can get the answer through Private mail just to satisfy my curiosity.

Seen a well known advantage player break up two pair to draw to 3 to a royal at the Players Bar when the royal was 14K. And he hit it. I was breaking 6 for 1 full houses on the Mountain bar when they four Aces meter was high.

I hit the 4 Aces one night for $1400. The bank was full of players racing for the 4 Aces. I got the Aces but I came in third on the money. One guy hit a royal and another guy hit two royals.
