There's a reason why contradictions can't be understood, it's because they don't make any sense. Nothing to do with linear thinking or math, this is basic logic. But you've said yourself it's part of your forum persona to be deliberately contradictory, so no point in arguing with you.

Contradictions appear to happen when you don't have all the facts but think you do. You don't have all the facts and you think you do. Best thing for you to do is just write it off that way you don't have to hurt your brain anymore. I've been dealing with you math zombies for 17 years and you are all the same, hopeless cases of ignorance.

In the video at 48:48 it says

At the core of artificial intelligence is Boole's most important principle, that even complex decision making can be broken down into a simple set of rules.

So let's say I take on board what you're saying and get down to work. I spend a few weeks or months trying to read randomness and I gradually improve. Eventually I too can guess 80% of outcomes correctly, so whatever is happening at the table I can make a decision to either not bet, bet red, or bet black, and with the expectation that I'll win 80% of my bets. The next step is obviously to write down this decision making process so that I have a set of rules.

No, it's you that are confused. This is where you say "random doesn't follow rules". But I'm not saying it does, I'm saying that the decisions you make at the table can be broken down into a set of rules. I've already discovered through experience, observation, or "situational awareness", that outcomes "follow phases", and that patterns repeat. Of course, in the light of this discovery, it doesn't make sense to say that "random doesn't follow rules", but the point is that there is no skill involved in making decisions once I have found those "phases" and patterns, and when they repeat. I just need to follow the rules.

Exactly, that means there are no contradictions in reality. But you say that outcomes are independent and equally likely, but at the same time say that you can win 80% of your bets by looking at past outcomes. You can't have it both ways.

BTW, I'm not a Thomist or even a Christian, but the video makes the point well.

I do not believe...firstly math professors and women are really not many...
Secondly, that daughter will be a math professor and the father will be profane in math even more rare case.
If put these two together we get event which is extremely rare ...so again simple bragging...

It's just the opposite - it is you who don't have the facts and that's the reason why you can't compete with anyone else, and that's the reason why you're trying to show you know something you don't want others to see...

But if you knew any maths at all, you'd just calculate that it's impossible to win 80% of the time!

And that's my assertion as true as saying a man can't jump 3 meters high....

Both ways, what are you talking about. It is because the outcomes are totally independent of the last outcome, that I can make excellent educated guesses when the outcomes are playing my game. If they were connected in some way I wouldn't be able to do it. They have to be completely independent for this to work. You have a very poor understanding of the nature of independent outcomes. You have apparently attached a bunch of properties to them that don't exist. You have attached a bunch of fantasy rules to them that only exist in your head.

Holy crap, sexist much? There are more women in the United States that are math teachers than there are men math teachers. 54% of all Math teachers in the United States are women . My daughter is head of the math department at her college and it's all women, not a single male math professor. What Macho sexist country are you from.

I cherry pick the bets I make and 80% of the time I'm correct on the 1st bet. I do not walk up to a table and start betting and I'm right 80% of the time. It's a very honed down perfected process. And it only works online because they produce so many betting opportunities per hour. I cannot do 80% in a brick-and-mortar casino. That would be ridiculous.

lol, so if outcomes aren't connected why look at past spins? And if you were playing single deck blackjack where the cards are removed from the deck you wouldn't be able to win because the outcomes are connected? What do you think independent means?

Because the patterns and trends that I think I see are imaginary. They do not really exist except in my brain. That's why they have to be not connected in reality. I am pretending these patterns I see are real and acting accordingly. I can exploit them for a very short time, one spin at a time. What is the difference if they are real or not real if they can be exploited. This is something math people have a very hard time dealing with.

Talk is not about how many teachers...talk is about math professors. The professor is a science degree, say my ex-wife is a professor in dentistry. But that professor's degree is not done her - the best dentist!
I myself many years back was a teacher in a school and very good know how good in math is math teacher-women :)...
But talk is not about that but about that I do not believe in you... !
You never said about roulette anything clever and always repeat that math is shit ... Not need to be very smart that to talk as you talk ...
Bla - bla-bla only... nothing smart...online to win is easier for you? :D oh, man...

I read this 3 times and I still have no idea what it means. Come back when you can write in English and people can actually understand it

The gist of it is that the topic was referring to someone whom is a professor in math, not a school teacher who generally know very little about math, barely enough to present the text book material.

So whilst a math teacher may have a certificate such as a diploma or a degree that qualifies them to teach high school subject that is very different from a math professor whom has completed post graduate studies and published peer reviewed research in math. This requires providing a new contribution to science and both discovering and proving something we did not know before.

What does that have to do with the discussion. My daughter is a math professor and 45% of the math professors in the United States are women and it goes up every year. There will be more women professors than men teaching math soon. As I said she is the head of her Department at her College and all the professors under her are women. I think the school a few years ago tried to hire a male math professor and they couldn't find one. The biggest problem she faces is every new semester she gets 30 students and in a week 10 of them are gone in 2 weeks there are only 10 left and they are all women. High Schools are sending these kids to college with no math training and my daughter is not about to teach them high school math.
