One of the things that hurt me the about the situation was that I thought that I had made a new friend. One that had extreme success in baccarat and was sharing his knowledge and technology with me.

Since he was planning to come down and set up the equipment personally, my wife and I were trying to tidy up the house a bit. Especially the two attic rooms upstairs where my small gambling station is. I was making other preparations also. And of course putting the betting plan into action and having all the extra income, I was looking forward to that. It all seems sort of sad and silly now.

The $7200 that Bob kept from my casino account, I did not start out with that, so I can't really miss it. I didn't even make one bet. It passed through my accounts briefly and that was it.

I think it's a matter of time when AI takes over Baccarat. Too bad it turned out poorly with the scammer. I've been using spreadsheet on my phone instead of scorecard at stadium. Today a floor critter approached and asked me if I was tracking the game. He handed me a pen and scorecard and told me not to use the phone. Still, a phone is allowed for general use at the stadium games. Sometimes I think casino personnel are more superstitious than players.

 

I don't see much distinction between utilizing a spreadsheet and a pen and paper. I wonder if the floor staff truly acknowledge this? Their job revolves around enforcing the casino's rules, yet there seems to be no inherent difference between the two methods from the casino's perspective. Arguably, acknowledging the use of spreadsheets for players' convenience could actually enhance the casino's reputation.

 

Yeah and each machine has a USB port!! Go figure.

 

There are some sophisticated programs on smartphones that greatly helps the user in making decisions. It gives the disparity between P and B, FLD and OLD, and DBL and ODBL. Casinos fear such programs. The casino employee does not know whether you are using a sophisticated program or use a spreadsheet program. Hence all smartphones are not allowed in casinos.

 

It is not just smartphones. Anything electronic is not allowed to be used at the tables in the casinos where I play.
