After years and years of trying different betting progressions. I can confirm that the Oscar Grind is the safest and most logical to use.

You stay at the same level when you lose and you go up 1 unit when you win until you get 1 unit profit and you reset after.

By far its not even close to being the best. If and that is IF you can hit at least 1 in 3. The better would be 2 up on a loss and 1 back on a win with a reset when in a profit. Or if you have the bank roll up as you lose and up as you win with a reset at a profit. The problem with these is the same as Oscar's It doesn't matter if you go up on a win or a loss IF your bet selection doesn't perform your screwed. The whole I've tested and it's never went past x decisions is just straight up gambler's fallacy. The idea of the fatter bank roll is also what card counting teams usually used. And just a side note it didn't always work.

One of the only ways to not dig a huge hole when your bet selection isn't performing is to flat bet.

And the most powerful tool in anyone's arsenal is the parlay. Bet 1 let it ride and win 3. The only way to risk 1 and win more.
The problem is if your not winning multiples in a row. But your parlay does not have to be on the next hand you can play it when your think it's more likely to hit....
