    Hi Folks,

To clarify that "Web of Trust" members are members with a lineage to our Founders (e.g. they were invited by a Founder, or by someone invited by the Founders, etc.), we have renamed the "Web of Trust" tag to "Lineage to Founders".

Any member with the "Lineage to Founders" tag can be traced back directly to one of our Founding Members up the invitation chain.

When am I getting my "Hairy, Sweaty Taco of Stink" tag? If you can't do it then just say that and I won't have to ask anymore!

Not happening. Besides being too long, it would set a precedent of customizing tags for members, which would only invite more such requests. Our apologies.

No problem. If you change your mind please let me know. I would be happy to pay a small fee for the option and perhaps others would as well. It could potentially be a revenue stream for your site. Food for thought.

Your "web of trust" now "linage to founders" tags seems an odd thing to me. Why do you want to create different classes among your members? Sort of pitting members against one another? o_O I would think if members are going to be singled out and recognized, it should be for their positive contributions to the site, not because of who they know or don't know.

But hey, your site. You are the experts at this or so you say.

At the rate we're growing, it's going to be a while before we hit the $5,000 Giveaway targets. If all our 1,800 members right now invited just 1 person and each of those invited just 1 person and so on, and everyone posted just once a day, we would hit the targets in less than 2 weeks. However, few are posting and even less are inviting, so it's going to be a while. Hang in there!

These Tags were one of the benefits for those who signed up early with an invite. We offered such benefits to help jump-start our site, and we can't go back on our word to them now, so their Tags are here to stay. However, as for recognizing those who make positive contributions to the site, we are open to creating new Tags for them as well. We would have to come up with a community-based system on how to recognize such members. Thinking out loud here, perhaps something like having a minimum criteria in order to be nominated (e.g. minimum number of posts, likes. etc.), the member would then have to be nominated by another member and that nomination would have to be seconded by yet another member, and then it would be put up to a community-wide vote with a minimum number of votes required in order to pass. If it passed, then the member would receive a Tag to distinguish them for their contributions to the community. That would give such members the recognition they deserve while incentivating others to make positive contributions in order to be distinguished as well.
