Question is for anyone really. Anyone except Bago.

I might of asked this before, I dont remember shit. I have a very good friend, very trustworthy.

He plays at the casino here from time to time (craps). Lets PRETEND, counting my buy in and my winnings, I have 13K, time to go home. Why could I not pay my friend (in sight of the cameras) the 4K I owe him from a loan ;)

Then I take 9K to the cage. Debt is debt......if I owe 4K, why cant I pay my friend back? There should be no big issues?

First pay your taxes, then pay your debts.

That's how it works, I believe.

You can do whatever you want to try and fool the casino in order to hide how much you've won from them. However, they can also file a suspicious activity report and try and claim that you're structuring in order to avoid the 10k threshold ctr filing.

You'd be wise to do things out of sight of the casino's camera when it comes to money. Regardless, if you are filing as a professional gambler, then it's not really a big deal because:

    1. You claim all of your wins and losses.
    2. You can easily enough prove that you're attempting to conceal how much you're winning from the casino to prevent them from banning you. (Which is not illegal. As matter of fact I know of cases where structuring has been claimed by the casino and the players got off because they said they were trying to hide the wins from the casino, not the gov., and they proved their point with their tax returns and other ctr filings.)
    3. Concealing the wins from the casino and keeping them in the dark is just good business.
    4. We all pay our fair share in taxes, and past ctrs at the bank is proof that you're trying to dupe the casino, not the gov. (Yes, sometimes ctrs can be beneficial.)
    5. If you're dealing with slot tickets know that they're bearer instruments. You can have anyone cash them for you.
    6. If you're approached by the casino after the fact, tell them that you're loaning your friend the money to change his name from Robert Lee to another name that is less offensive to the bigoted people on the left.

    Thanks Dr. Sir Anyone.

I thought it would be EASIER (and legal) to simply "pay a loan back". I have taken home quite a few chips before, even that I get nervous on.

Do you really believe this clown has a 13K bankroll when playing Roulette, 130$ would be the max. Also how come he needs to get a loan if he is winning more than he loses at Roulette, can't he get the money from his winnings?. Same bullshit as Turbo, I wonder if they are not from the same family.

Hi Ken - read Sir Anyone's reply and hadn't noticed if that was what you meant or not from the initial question.
I can tell you from my own experience that I've given large value chips to other people at the table to use (we were all playing together) and never once had a problem with that (taken from my winnings).
Maybe that's not allowed in all cases but I've clearly done it with no problems at all.
I've given cash to someone as well - again not a problem.
If you're talking about taking your winnings to the cashier and split it multiple ways before doing so - yes, I would say that's a problem - maybe it isn't. I don't have experience with that situation, but if you're being obvious and trying to avoid a tax or something... ugh - no idea really. Sir Anyone can tell you lol.
I play low profile. I win, cash out and leave. If I'm with a friend I've given them chips or cash at the table - but that's probably not what you're asking lol.
And bringing chips home ? That seems a bit odd - is that allowed ? Yikes. Good idea to avoid some issues but I certainly wouldn't do it.

Yes of course it's allowed. I've held chips at times for up to a year. Again, concealing wins from the casino is good business as long as you're filing them on your taxes.

How are you concealing wins if you the only value the chips have is in the casino ?
At some point you would have to cash them in and your wins are then obvious.
Unless you brought them in little by little... grins... or just wallpaper a bedroom with them....

Example: In a team play, you might not want to cash out all of the chips at once, but rather a little bit at a time via other people as well.
The casinos aren't always aware of how much a player has won in a game.

FYI, the cameras are recording and they can tell exactly how much you won any day, what numbers you bet on etc.

It is not because you succeed to leave the Casino with value chips that it is allowed, in fact it is not.
One night, I wanted to leave the table without going to the cashier, the pitboss catched me up and ordered me to exchange my value chips for bills. I told him I come back tomorrow that's why I don't see the use of exchanging but replied their accounting would be false, and if there was a controller coming to check their accounts, they would be in trouble.

    Bago,

I'm referring to value chips. That's your experience in your casino. However in the real world here in the US and other countries we can leave with them.

By the way, casino policy is not gaming law.

    Yes me too, 100€/200€/500€ chips.

I understood you are leaving the Casino with some value chips hidden in your pocket to give the illusion you won less when cashing out, but I doubt you informed whether the pitboss or the person at the cashier, so I don't know on what you are founding your belief that it is allowed, did you ask the permission?. Thanks.

Are you sure you want to walk out the door with those chips?
