Where the Dominator is standing for his throw, and his soft throw underhand if you like... and his thumb postion, are these things typical of what you might see from an accomplished DI?

His throw is overhand with a slightly early release but what you are seeing is the throw sifted through one individual.

For the sake of civil discussion, for those not align with the DI/DC concept, would you mind explaining how you execute your toss. I'm always up for new ideas to improve my game.

    A couple of points here;
    1. If indeed the famous gaming author made zillions off this (with his toss, not his classes/books/videos) why would he let the cat out of the bag?
    2. Has he not hurt all patrons that set dice by casino heat when none is warrented?
    3. If you were selling books would it look good to not stay calm under attack?
    4. Why would he revise "history" in his books? (newer editions)
    5. Why make up stories about a roll that never happened?
    6. Why only visit these and other boards when a new book is coming out?
    7. Why is he banned from dice influencing boards?

Of course I could probably shut up and get a free pile of feces with more revisonist history and talk about haters. You don't hate the sinner, you hate the sins. Maybe if he stopped being a wayward Catholic?

DeMango,.. I haven't read the book, but you make some very good points. I think that if you read his new book you will find that he shoots himself in the foot when he is writing about the captain!

When anybody reviews what has been written in the past about the captain things will not match up.

One of the things that any craps player that has been playing the game for any length of time has major problems with his story. The number one thing is how come nobody came forward and talked up that roll, craps players as you know are like old women when it comes to talking about a good roll that really happened. Five minutes after the roll everybody knows about it from coast to coast.

To sell any book you need a good story line that will capture your audience imagination. When it come to craps what better story line could you have then a roll the would be a world record at the time.

Your number 2 question is right on. We all get heat when we get on a roll and now days you are even seeing it passed on the these so-called random rollers that all so-called DI's hate. Not to long ago I had the misfortune of watching a 90 year old being threatened that they were going to take the dice away from him if he missed the back wall one time and he was shooting from straight out on table end and wasn't even setting the dice.

Before they coined those magic words (Dice Influencer) you never heard the crew telling anybody about hitting the back wall. Now days because of all of the fiction that has been written if one die does not hit the back wall and you are setting the dice they are all over you. The one die that did hit the back wall bounced back three foot and the other one did a right hook bouncing off the side wall.

Number six is the classic question of all time. You know that is how he promotes all of his books every time he writes a new one! If he could only get on one of the late night TV shows he would have it made. Writing is an art form, and he is damn good at it.

But there is a lot of questionable things in what he writes, the one that really stick out is the claim to how much money they were winning from the casinos, and him being banned from them. We know that he was banned because he didn't get a license for his school to teach dice control and it wasn't because of his shooting!

All you have to do is start watching all of the slow motion videos that I have put up to realize how many have been taking to the cleaners by the on-axis DI schools. The dice bounce all over the place once they hit the table. The case should be closed, but you will always have your good old boys society that will pay their “After Glow Fees” so they can hang out with their heroes!

You should look at what happened with GTC and how it started and how much money it generated. Everything that they and Frank did was to hype up what they were selling. Let face facts,...everybody loves money and if your in business wouldn’t you want to have Frank in your corner selling what you say works. He is the perfect infomercial for what they were selling, doesn't he go out of his way to promote every book that he writes?

Now as far as “Why is he banned from dice influencing boards?” it's very simple they don't want him selling anything on their boards! They go out of their way to tell everybody that what Frank says is BS but they let the Madprofessor post on Heavy’s board. Then while we're at it lets look at all the times the great fiction writer, the Madprofessor has written that Frank was writing BS, that has always tickled my funny bone, because I’ve played on the same table that Frank was on. But nobody has ever played on a table with the Madprofessor, that truly writes nothing but fiction.

Until a credible person comes forward and says that they were on the same table when the captain had his great roll, there will always be doubt in anybody’s mind that it ever happened and he wasn't some character that Frank embellished on what he did, to sell what he was promoting.

Last time I was in your fair city I spent sometime at the Cormwell. It was a week day in mid-afternoon, there were these 2 guys shooting. The first guy shot what looked like a PARR shot, and held the dice for @ 30 minutes. After this guy 7 out, his buddy got the dice. This guy was shooting from the hook, box side, and when the dice was pushed to him he would immediately pick them-up and hurl the dice into the opposite hook with such force they would travel around the backwall and come to as rest half down the table. Several things that caught everyone's attention, dealers included, was the quickness and force of the throw, and the fact that the dice never flew off the table. Although this guy did not hold the dice as long as his buddy, maybe 20 minutes, but he threw the dice more often. Once rocketman 7 out both guys colored up and left. Although I have no way of knowing but I got a feeling these boys were local, not tourist. Was wondering if you ever saw anything like that.

I like Superrick for two reasons: He always sticks to his same criticisms even after I've answered them and he is a good writer. Oh, and a third, some friends of his have given his shooting glowing reports. I have no reason to doubt them.

Other than her boyfriend, find me someone who was at the table when Pat DeMauro had her world-record roll? I discussed why the casino was allowed to use her name and publicize her hand and why the Captain did not give his permission. But dealers at the casino where he had his roll probably did discuss it.

In my new book I even quote individuals who knew the Captain, including Satch (a member of the Captain's Crew --- the last surviving member other than me) and a former teacher in Golden Touch who loved to recount stories of his years with the Captain. A casino executive who wrote about him and his Crew, along with one of his hosts. Two students were at the tables when the Captain rolled, one on the table during the big roll.

As for selling books, I am a writer of gambling books; I believe in my books and I will cite them. I also do give a lot of them away for free as many of you know. Many of you may not know that other than 20 free books I have to buy the books from the publisher so the hundreds of books I have comped people were not free to me. One reason why I find it hard to do much posting when I am writing a book is the fact that I am writing a book; doing such takes up most of my working day. When the book comes out I have more time to write on Facebook and on certain web sites.

The few web sites that did not want me to join never said anything about them not wanting me to cite my books. One was gracious enough to tell me he just didn't want me on his site for fear that I would contradict his teachings. I went to these various web sites to write an article for Casino Player and I enjoyed a few of them so I continued to post on them when I had the time. I think you will note (please Superrick give me credit for something) that I don't take a heavy hand to other posters. I am not bludgeoning people with my views.

As for slow-motion videos, the only one I recommend is the Golden Touch one that does not have any edited throws. You see an entire session --- the good, the bad, the beautiful. As for the others, I watched a couple but I have no real comment on them. The super-super-slow-motion videos I used for my book Cutting Edge Craps: Advanced Strategies for Serious Players! were taken after the DVD and were the type of videos that can capture a bubble rising in a glass of beer or clear soda water. Those videos are not the same as the regular slow motion ones you will see in Superrick's posts as far as I can tell from the couple I watched.

I was not banned from casinos because of Golden Touch. The classes were a separate issue. I do name many of the casinos that bounced me.

As for television, I have been on about 20 different shows (and also a bunch in Europe and elsewhere), all shown at prime time and, as I have posted, I've written or structured several prime time shows.

Now one personal note here: I think that Superrick and some others create a scenario about me that they believe in and then attack that scenario as if it were the truth. You will note how many mistakes I have pointed out in Superrick's post from "no one ever talking about or seeing the Captain," to why I wanted to view other web sites for a Casino Player article, why I post more after I've finished writing a book, and why I was banned from casinos.

Anyway, I have an appointment to go to so I have to cut this rather long response somewhat "short."

Here is an idea. Wonder if a natural party such a Ahigh, would be open to videoing Frank's throw the next time Frank is in Vegas?

No need. My throw is on the DVD. I'll send you a free copy of this $300 DVD. It was filmed by Oprah Winfrey's crew and the visuals are quite good. Send me your address and I will get it out ASAP. You'll also get to see three other excellent dice controllers: Dominator, the late Bill Burton and Jerry "Stickman." Keep in mind no throws were edited. If you get the chance to watch the A&E show where five of us take on the casinos (again with non-edited throws) that would be instructive too.

Frank Scoblete - other than acting, writing and teaching, have you ever worked in the real business world or is your corporate resume similar to Obama's o_O

"Greedy executives and unethical business practices used to be universally frowned upon, even from others in the business community. Now they are mostly viewed as being savvy. It seems that businesses can really do no wrong as long as they keep growing and posting profits. There seems to have been a drop-off in how seriously business takes social responsibility, and many people, government leaders included, are perhaps content with looking the other way in exchange for economic gains.

What happens when greed gets out of hand? Enormous harm can be done to the environment and economy. The entire financial icon1.png crisis that was triggered by Wall Street could have been avoided, but there was a need for more profits, despite the fact that the firms involved were already raking in billions."

    Read more: http://www.cheatsheet.com/business/...g-what-happened.html/?a=viewall#ixzz3WpeP75n2

Maybe I don't give you enough credit for understanding greed .... IMO it is greed that was the driving force behind your exaggerated stories into increased profits

Harley, your post opened up a real can of worms. Use of the word seems was far too soft. There has been a definite steep decline across the entire culture spectrum, particularly since the Bush Crime Family rose to prominence... in terms of distinct lack of the following: morals, ethics, values, integrity, trust, credibility etc. This is reflected in the single-digit opinion polls for Congress. As for Obama, he allegedly attended Columbia University for two years but not one person ever remembers seeing him there. When he was elected POTUS, he had Columbia's records sealed. The fix was in.

Harley and Tony, read my reply to Harley in another thread about fiction writing and Superrick. As for business outside of writing books, articles, television shows, and teaching, I did own two magazines. I ran single-nights at a popular New York nightclub. I also did a regular radio show, actually two of them. I've worked numerous jobs, including being a waiter, gardener, sewer cleaner. I have some experience in business but in fact I am a lousy businessman. I think that is because I just tell it as I see it and I do not sell what I don't 100 percent believe in.

My "greed" is not so high. Those who are closest to me know me. I think I'll get a generous eulogy.

This has nothing to do with fiction writer. Paraphrasing Sam Grafstein who beloved there are only so many way to sell a different version of the same old technique. However, stories that cover the antics of the endless array of gambling characters knows no ends. I know there has to be a few out there who have a trove of such stories. If you can't write, partner up with some one who can. I love a good story, real or fiction.
