Thanks TurboGenius for the interesting video.

I personally prefer manipulating numbers and see how probability
    produces some interesting results.

Does anyone think it possible to use one different number every
day and that number must appear within 196 integers/spins,
and make a unit profit using a progression?

What are the main problems in achieving this goal?

How about 400 no appearances in a row? Does that present a problem?

gizmotron you have to keep to the script it's 196 integers/spins :)

Get a job at McDonald's. Move out of grandmas basement.

Dubins&Savage said that the best way to gamble was to make a martingale on 1 number and apply a progression to hit, if i remind well...

But this way worth only if you have to gamble once... it doesn't work if you thought about applying the same stuff everyday, more tries you'll make more you'll have chance to meet the drama...

Exactly, time spent at McDOnald's Vs same time spent at Roulette, you'll finally win everytime more at McDonald's... And by the way, if all those negative edge players would spend the same energy in a business, they'll have much more chance to be really rich.

The question is when will it "meet the drama"?

The other question is how to choose just one number?

The title of this thread is 'A Date With Probability', so how about using the date
for each day, seems as good as anything else. Of course no zero or 32 to 36.

No one knows but it would hurt so much that i'd rather even not try...

Let's take an example. Imagine 1024 players with their own series of 10 EC (so all combinations are played)... each of them would apply a martingale to hit and i can tell you that nobody would even consider to be busted at the first try, it would look impossible for them individually but there's one that will be busted at the first try anyway...

Another thing, just check how many chance you got to win at the lottery for example.... how could you explain that people win with such low probability... It makes me directly think about being carefull also about low probability to lose in what you describe for example. We could think, yes there's a winner because there are so many combinations played so there is high chance that there's a winner! while at the same time, each player plays individually and has nothing to do with all others combinations, they just hit a very rare event...
Then it means that you don't need especially to multiply the number of visits to a very large sample to be busted, you could be busted very quickly despite the low probability.

Yes Sharptracker your correct about EC and using a martingale doomed to failure.

In my first post I mentioned about manipulating numbers and in addition
limiting the number of spins at each Table rather than continuous spins,
with the obvious problems of probability discussed at great length in this
    forum.

It will be interesting to test my theory using one number and will explain
    more in my next post.

I am using Random.org integers and the reason for this will become apparent,
as this mini project progresses . This is really a theoretical test of probability,
to see how it responds to the numbers. It does show a theoretical profit and
will continue until or if it crashes out at 196 integers!

So far probability has past the first test, by the last number to appear 19
coming in on the 5th day. The 2nd test will be if it crashes out at 196 integers.
The 3rd and final test numbers (days), that have appeared the most times
and will be used discarding the other numbers (days) and this will also end if
it also crashes out at 196 integers.

I will not be using continuous integers, I will enter 'Generate 1000 numbers,
from 0 to 36 and 1 column. I will be using a certain number of integers then
reset etc. Perhaps someone can work out how I choose the number of
    integers to use?

It is this sort of mini project, that provides me with ideas for practical
projects, that can be used favourably in a casino.

I welcome positive and the inevitable negative comments.

    27 B 001 < 001 U > P = 0035 0177

Nice, but is a tough one on the horizon?

I wouldn’t use random.org spins but use real spins instead..
Ayks tracker is linked to random.org for its numbers and the discrepancy against real spins is there ..
