I am not doubting that you are playing this stupid game for a living.

I am glad that you found the Code for winning this negative expectation game.

So can we just take some 50/50 system and play it all the way in the good shoes and take as much as possible, and try to minimise losses in the bad shoes.

But to have 60+ HR in the long run i think that we need more then that. Sure we need to have triggers and setups that work better then 50% in the long run

There is no code, magic pixie dust, genie in the bottle etc. It is hard work to discover "YOUR NICHE". This is what separates the world class players from the amateurs. I have played with the best players at BTC and guess what, we all see the game slightly different and we play differently from one another. We don't question each other's game. There are times when we have had different bets up on the table and that is the fun of it because at least on my part, there was a lot of shit talking going on.

This is why I have finally come to the realization that system sellers who are trying to sell you their way of play are some of the most useless information given. When they advertise they sell you this pipe dream that you are going to make a gazillion units a day and then focus your eyes of the life that you are going to lead spending the gazillion units. Yes, they may give you the foundation to something but it is up to you to make it your own. You have no idea how many can't lose systems I have purchased from Ellis Clifton Davis. Ellis' reputation and credibility is so bad in the baccarat community that no one hears from him again. The same goes with that Dean from CFC and Glenn (Or whatever personality he is claiming to be this week). Keith owns a forum and is one of the worst players on the planet. BTC is circling the drain because the main contributors to the forum left because we did not want to take the road BTC was going on. He is telling everyone that he kicked us out because he couldn't take our egos anymore. That is furthest from the truth.

The problem with the common player is that they don't want to put the hard work in. They purchase a system believing the pipe dream and do not put in a fraction of the time it takes to learn the system or the game itself, they practice a little and lose their shirt. They are convinced that with the miniscule practice they did and after losing their shirt, the system sucks. A short time later they are off purchasing the next "CAN"T LOSE" system latching on to the next pipe dream.

Agree... I was being funny about bet selection... I actually use that method for European roulette which works ok... I’m amazed that anyone claims that bet selection in random games like Baccarat, roulette, etc is a valid ‘system’...

    1. Bet Selection 2. Discipline 3. Money Management.

Bet Selection: If you got a selection that will win more hands than lose then as long as you got the bankroll to cover variance there is little need for Discipline or Money Management. Well... you need some discipline to at least follow the winning bet selection, duh!

I've always said this is a guessing and betting game. But that only goes for folks who don't have a winning bet selection. If someone does have such then you should be able to define it and explain it.

Enter Discipline and Money Management. What is Discipline besides sticking to a pre conceived plan, not going tilt, not making mistakes? What is Money Management? IMO money management is simply changing the size of your wager based on perceived statistical limitations. By that I mean recognizing changes in the game and/or rare events and adjusting your wager accordingly. Yeah, this comes from experience. But in the end, without a definable advantage, it is just guessing really. Example: You might say I am supposed to make a small wager here but since I'm up a few units and the game seems to be repeating more than not I think I'll adjust my bet upward a bit to see if it works out. If it doesn't I can do "x" and if it does I can do "y." That's money management.

It can be done with success. I have documented over 3000 live wagers and proved this to myself. Yes, Discipline and Money Management. Bet Selection? IMO bet selection is not that important for those who are relying on disicpline and money managment. Why? Because they all lose! So pick one you like! But don't pay for them!

See, this is where spirited debate is good. We can politely differ with each other without idiots like JBS ruining it for everyone.

I don't care how good you are, when your bet selection is good for that shoes life is good but when your bet selection is going bad it is the discipline that is the most important component in the game. J, you describe discipline very cavalierly, you describe not going on tilt as something so subtle. That is what the casinos thrive on. Everyone has gone on tilt one time or another. There is a switch that is flicked in the head and once it is activated and you are on tilt, things very rarely get better.

Your description of money management is not what I feel it is. I have my own wagering method and it is mostly flat betting with a slight increase positive progression. I never bet a negative progression.

Money Management in my opinion is not taking daily or weekly profits. It is extracting my profits once a month. I get a pension on the first of the month so the 15th of the month I take my profits from baccarat. I treat it like a paycheck. Hopefully, whatever losses I have will be absorbed through whatever profit I have so far for that month. People that play for a living make mistakes when they don't treat their craft as a job and take daily profits.

Bet selection is the most important to me, discipline is a given no discipline then you are just a gambler. Winning flat betting provides the proof that you have the edge to beat the game. Don't tell me every bet is a coin toss when you win more bets than you lose. Yes some days can be harder but are easy to recover when your loss is only a couple of flat bet units as apposed to a progression of units. Its just my view and I respect everyone's view as well, we all like different things and have different opinions so its all good.

I use a 2 unit bet. If my unit is $100, then my bet is $200. If I lose I remain at the $200 bet however if I win I increase my wager to $300. Once I get up 8 units I play until I lose once. Once I lose once I am out of the shoe. It is good because if you are at +8 and get on the run with a 2/3 loop you can really do some damage. My stop loss is -10. The double edge sword to this is the swings. You can get down if you keep losing the 3 unit bet but you can also wipe away losses with it too. The real good thing to this is that if you catch on to a run you will clean up. I usually don't play streak runs because it is rare that I bet an unconfirmed 3 goes to a 4.

We’re all looking for the sure-thing re baccarat bet selection strategy... it doesn’t exist in a game of no skill like baccarat... gamblers fallacy and all that... money management has got to be of utmost importance, surely? That, of course, together with a bottomless bank account and blind luck...

I am a conservative player I play a very tight game and flat bet only. people have said why don't you use progression, I don't debate I just say I'm happy flat betting. Mcvince you must be aware no flat better started of flat betting we all started with some form of progression play and the common bet selection methods.

    DVD,

I disagree that this is a no skill game. This game has stayed the same but the player is evolving.

The skilled player doesn't bet every hand, and is more conservative rather than careless.

Absolutely. I have a friend that for a few years couldn't get away from the Frankenstein progression ( look it up if you don't know what it is). I along with every player has played a negative progression and failures after failures you either go broke or re evaluate.

I should clarify: the skill is discipline and, as many term it, money management. There is no skill playing the actual game. no skill can make you win a hand, but there is skill in playing your bets to turn a profit.

It is a skill game, the skill is finding your strategy to beat the game. Their was a poster a while back, had a family to support and finding hard to get a job decided to try to make some money at the casino playing baccarat. He settled on the strategy he wanted to play and was very successful and happy. So happy he posted his strategy on this forum.

That,s why they write books, but they don't make any money because the government has a house edge on them.

Unicorns are not real, but house edge is. This is a mathematical certainty. But perhaps, there are some skillful players who overcome this.

Yes I agree the house edge is real but if their was no house edge people would still lose. Why because they still can't beat the game, learn to beat the game, forget about the house edge.
