This is similar to people who say, "I'm going to kill you", they rarely do it is just a figure of speech durning a heated argument. A person who is intent on killing someone will kill them without a verbal warning. Joe said to Bob, I'm going to kill you the next time I see you. The next time Bob sees Joe, he kills Joe.

 

So who will kill who? Harley is in Texas, or has he made a triumphant return?

Just not sure why all this melodrama. They either have a video or they don't, but I see no reason for 4 months plus of these assertions. I’m still betting there will never be a video. But lets say there is a video, who is to say it is the right video? Who is going to be the non-bias panel who confirm the results?

Group. My first post. I'm at a loss at understanding the background of what has provoked all the negative posts and name calling
between SuperRick, SnakeEye, Harley and TableTop? I note some are also founding members. So how serious is all this and doesn't
it just detract from whatever the original reason for founding this forum? Sorry, but I just don't get it. Thank you for any enlightenment.

but I wanted to know what the argument is about? The title of the thread begs the question?

 

They are arguing about what is the better toss. There is a threat to expose something, but it seems to be an idle threat. In the meantime, read as much as you can, develop your own shot and tabulate results. Let the computer program decide if you have talent, if you have an advantage, or if you are wasting time. It's all out there, most of it free, so don't give anybody any money!

 

OK!!! Thank you again. My 2-cents based on what Iv'e read others say about this ongoing controversy. First a little history. I bought one of those practice boxes and spent about 9-months reading and digesting the literature on dice influence. As you say, most of this is available on line. I saw no need to spend money on the seminars. Especially when I heard that the folks who attended those classes on DI did not throw any more accurate than a random roller. Anyway I practiced: a lot. After a while I did seem to have some influence above the law of large numbers using my 3-fingered grip and shooting from the table. (Parr/GTC) A loud 'flat' sound usually indicated my shot was on axis. Basically, I think one will find there are only three sets for playing the PL: all sevens, 3-V and 2-V. All other combinations can be reduced to these three dice sets and to have large advantage one has to stay on axis 2 out of 3 throws. Extremely difficult to do. Apart from that, the problem with all my
practice is that I was living in the past so to speak. My 2 layers of felt on plywood did NOT mimick casino conditions where most tables now are like trampolines. where foam, etc is used. I think this shot may have worked in the past (on older style tables) but that was then and this is now.

Enter the off axis toss. This gives me pause. This reminds me of system developers who come up with mechanical rules and then change these rules after the fact to show their system now performs well using past results. So, on axis mechanics don't work, so now they are saying that off axis mechanics are the way to go? Not logical I think.

Apparently, this Little Joe man teaches an off axis throw. While I remain skeptical I am also confused. If I understand my book learning properly, Superrick has always written that he doesn't believe in DI but at the same time seems to employ some sort of DI throw. Maybe he could chime in and sort out the confusion? Maybe we all just want to believe. Thank you for your post.

 

Haven't seen SR in a while, though I have made a conscious effort not to visit Craps Forum. Working on my humility, no need to fight all the time with the negative nancies. So look for him there.

Would someone care to explain or describe the theory behind an 'off axis toss'? Also, how does the shooter purportedly set the dice for an 'off axis toss? Iv'e been unable to find anything on Utube similar to the on axis version of "The Eight Physical Elements of Dice Control". Tks for any feedback.

 

I have learned, second hand, there will be a seminar, in Vegas, one of the subjects will be the Z toss. Find Harley elsewhere, or maybe he will chime in here.

If you go over there and start bragging about Dice Control or such, you are going to get quite some criticism on such a claim. The 'Dice Control' scheme is often used by scam artist who pray upon the weak minded and the greedy that they can teach them this 'secret' about the dice that will allow them to scoop up big money from the craps tables.

Funny thing though, the casinos don't seem to think that this so claimed 'Dice Control' is any threat to them. I wonder why?
