Supreme Court Rejects Texas Bid to Overturn Election Results

The U.S. Supreme Court rejected the bid by Texas and President Donald Trump to nullify the election results in four pivotal states in an abrupt, effectively unanimous order that could be the legal death-knell for the effort to overturn President-elect Joe Biden’s victory.

The justices refused to let Texas file a lawsuit to challenge Biden’s wins in Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan and Wisconsin. The order clears those states to cast their votes for Biden in the Electoral College on Monday.

The decision ends a lawsuit hailed by Trump on Twitter as “the big one,” and it decimates his oft-expressed dream of vindication at the Supreme Court, which has a 6-3 conservative majority thanks to Trump’s appointments. Barrett’s nomination was rushed through the Senate confirmation process, with Trump saying her vote would be needed to resolve any election disputes.

Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito said they would have let Texas file the suit, noting that they’ve long maintained they think the Supreme Court has no choice but to allow a suit by one state against another. They indicated they wouldn’t have blocked the electors from voting, though, saying they “would not grant other relief.”

    ‘The Big One’
Michael Gwin, a spokesman for the Biden campaign, said in a statement that the court “decisively and speedily rejected the latest of Donald Trump and his allies’ attacks on the democratic process.”

Trump has spent months trying to shake the nation’s faith in the integrity of its voting systems, repeatedly forecasting before Nov. 3 that the election would be rigged because of the expanded use of mail-in ballots, and then saying afterward it had been, without ever producing evidence to back up those claims in court.

Dozens of lower courts rejected cases pressed by Trump and his allies. Members of the Trump administration, including Attorney General Bill Barr, have said they haven’t found any instances of widespread fraud.

Texas, with Trump’s support, sought an extraordinary last-minute intervention by the high court. Texas claimed its rights were violated because the four states unconstitutionally expanded mail voting, opening up their elections to fraud and irregularities.

“Texas has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another state conducts its elections,” the court said in an unsigned two-paragraph order.

No justice publicly dissented from that conclusion or said he or she would block the states from casting their votes. Trump’s three Supreme Court appointees -- Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh and Amy Coney Barrett -- gave no suggestion they disagreed with the order.

The only thing left for the stupidest cult of all now is to try to secede from the Union. Gizmotron will lead them to the "promised land". Triple lol. Hehehe.

Actually the censorship and the news blackout before the election, that news that broke about the Biden Crime Family and all that money that got funneled through Joe's son Hunter. I doubt that Joe lasts 6 months. So we could see Kamala Devi Harris, KDH, rise to be the most powerful woman in the world.

It's going to be a great few years just before all the savings accounts are raided in order to keep paying financial support for deadbeat bureaucrats and freshly minted "Dreamers." And don't forget that gas for your evil car will cost about $10 per gallon. Your "Whopper" value meal will cost $15 and you won't be allowed to have a high calorie sweetener in your soda-pop.

You'll continually miss what's going on now, and, what really and actually happened, if you dwell on the future.

Anyway, the one who really and actually sees also the future can not change it.

Sigh. Better that you guys "embrace the horror" than the normal, everyday people. There was more than enough "horror" to go around with big bad dung and the dung family in the White House. Ha. I'm loving the moment, and, continuing to move forward.

You guys should be mightily grateful for all the people who voted for Trump, in 2016, but Biden, this time around. They gave big bad dung and the family dung the chance to, in any way, change his ways. It's true that every thing Trump touches dies, after he desperately sucks the life out of it.

@Bago I don't think that even Gizmotron could have imagined the state of the world had Trump won another term as President.

Biden, fresh off Electoral College win, accuses Trump of "unprecedented assault on democracy

President-elect Joe Biden accused President Trump of an "unprecedented assault on democracy" in a speech Monday night hours after the Electoral College formalized his victory. Mr. Trump has refused to concede the election and has tried repeatedly to use the courts to challenge the results without success.

Mr. Biden, speaking in Wilmington, Delaware, ran through some of Mr. Trump's legal challenges, and said "they were found to be without merit" every time.

"Every single avenue was made available for President Trump to contest the results," Mr. Biden said. "He took full advantage of each and every one of those avenues. President Trump was denied no course of action he wanted to take.
