I have been here 3 weeks today and have over 200 posts already. It really isn't that difficult. Of course I have lots of posts wherever I go because I have nothing to say and I like to say it a lot.

I wish they’d move the PM limit to 500 minimum.

Only begging system leeches really want access to PMs, along with scammers who love to fleece them.

Trust me naive rookies, it’s for your own good. Keep the money in your pocket, don’t voluntarily give it away to the Tablones of the world.

While we are on the topic of changes, why is the time to edit a post only 5 minutes. 15 minutes would be a much better option. I dictate all my posts because I have arthritis and it is much easier for me. The dictation software makes mistakes all the time that I have to correct and I miss some of them so I have to go back and edit the post. It would be nice to have 15 minutes because sometimes I have to edit two or three times. What could it possibly hurt to increase the time.

Or even make it 30 minutes. The point is you have a time limit because you don't want people going back in the future and altering posts. 15 minutes or even 30 minutes would accomplish that just as well as 5 minutes.

I think it should be time unlimited. Nothing wrong with adjusting past posts.

That can be disastrous. People get disgruntled with a forum and they go back and erase every post they ever made and that leaves big holes in conversations. Better to have a time limit.

    Lol
Very funny nd your post are usually no more than a sentence at the best of times.
3 min is enough, if the poster have to use longer to edit then the poster have not put much thought into what they are saying in the first place. With time hopefully they think before they use the post reply button , if they don’t, well no amount of time will help them. Cheers

Read before you hit the post reply button, edit before you post, not that difficult, by the way the post reply button takes the same amount of time to hit as the like button. Less than a nanosecond , you might need to wipe your mouth.

There's only 1 forum legend who accomplished this incredible feat of DELETING ALL HIS POSTS. He was ashamed and would get really angry/belligerent when people would bringing it up for the next few years afterwards. I personally thought it was hilarious and he should have embraced it with honor. I wonder where said individual is nowadays, I couldn't even begin to guess.

No kidding, duh. Are you familiar with the editing process in books? It's not unusual to have two or three people reading and editing a finished book. The second person reads the first person's edits and corrects mistakes if there are any. The third person corrects the first and second editor's mistakes. No matter how good you are there are times when you miss mistakes on the first reading. Even if you read it twice before you hit send. Even if you read it three times before you hit send you keep glancing over the same mistakes. Unless you're perfect like you are of course.

I know somebody who actually did that. Got pissed off and went and your eraced over 4,000 posts. Had to take him weeks. As a result that forum instituted a time limit on editing.

Nathan has perfected the art of brevity, something sorely needed on most forums. Get in make your point and get out. Nobody wants to read five paragraphs of personal insults. For myself I don't read them that's why I very seldom respond to them. You can't say anything to insult me that I haven't heard a hundred times before. Yawn..

Probably an hour or two would be helpful. It's probably easier and more thorough to look at and edit, after you post.

Here is a good example. The dictation software misspelled the word 'erased' and I missed it when I reread the post. When I saw it it was too late to edit because five minutes had gone by.
