People wear masks to protect others not themselves, there have been many examples in Asia where the population is shall we say more obedient than the west, places like Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan have have great success in getting CoVid under control, without the need of welding peoples doors shut like the CCP have resorted to.

Unfortunately you're right, 4 weeks after your Booster would be the ideal time to catch it, before anybody starts seeking out Omicron, ensure you're not immunocompromised, either through overall health, underlying conditions, or what has now been discovered, "existing medication" you may be taking, which unbeknown to most medical Doctors renders your vaccines useless.

I was dropping Xmas present off to house of my goddaughters and godsons last Thursday, I wore a mask . Their parents contact me late Boxing Day to say they all test positive to Covid ( 4days had passed since Thursday) they like myself are double vaxed. I was there this morning dropping off basic supplies bread n milk , as the supermarket chain had delays in delivery as in something later today etc. I spoke with goddaughter, she’s mid twenties, told me much worse than flu, high temperatures plus freezing cold at same time, hard breathing. But extremely happy to be vaxed and alive. Her parents are early 50s they all much the same etc.

I do acknowledge that we all will catch Covid at some stage, some of us will die, with or without a biased wheel lol . I didn’t catch it this time around in this situation described and here I totally agree with junket king the mask prevents from infection of oneself to others, this case saved me from receiving.
Until I’ve received my booster shot ( next 3&1/2 weeks) from a common sense point of view, I will continue to wear a mask. If I’m wrong but alive and well win win , if I’m right and alive and well , win win. I will feel more comfortable (if that’s at all possible lol) to get Covid after the booster shot , my choice, my right to decide.
I will take your doctor story with good faith and understand the reciprocal story of mine is the absolute truth also.

A mask is for stopping spread covid not for not getting sick. The only way masks work is if everybody wears them. If just some people wear them they are worthless. It's the same principle as doctors in an operating room. They wear a mask not so they won't get sick it's so the patient won't get sick. Masks do almost nothing to stop you from getting covid. Unless it's some expensive ventilator type which most people wear wrongly anyway.
