Not trying to argue. But most folks who have had heart attacks had LOWER cholesterol levels. Higher cholesterol reduces inflammation, increases sex hormones, and cholesterol is the building blocks of essential protiens. Your "didn't live long enough " argument is debunked when infant mortality is factored into average lifespan. Caveman days most babies died, causing the average lifespan number to drop. You would be surprised how many people actually lived long lives without cancer, heart issues or brain issues. Look up cardiologist Paul sliding (or dont...enjoy eating maple leaves I guess). Books like the carnivore code.. the cholesterol con... the big fat surprise...etc etc. They can get those cholesterol levels up making you feel better.

Or eat like cows and horses since your digestive system I closer to theirs than a k9.

    You do you boo!

And remember we are cresting here. These recent generations may be some of the first generations that don't outlive the lifespans of thir previous generations.

You cannot argue with the statistic that says 4% of the population in 1900 what's over 65 and today it's 17% over 65. It's an absolute inarguable fact did old people are living longer than ever before in history. And infant mortality is always figured into lifespan. People died in droves before they reached age 60 because there was no treatment for so many of the diseases. And my doctor seems perfectly happy with my cholesterol, I'm certainly not going to try and raise it because of some anecdotal stories on the internet. You can stuff your face all day long with hamburgers and french fries and cholesterol filled grilled cheese sandwiches. I'm choosing another route.

Why would I stuff my face with French fries? Carbs bro.. carbs...

Grilled cheese? Again..carbs... I will take the cholesterol all day because dietary cholesterol has little affect on your body when your liver produces cholesterol and balances out cholesterol levels. Eggs all day bro, that's why the American heart association removed the limit to daily eggs. They did a study that showed cholesterol from eggs had no affect. But it's a great energy source compared to berries and spinach!

Doctors don't really look at studies. Scientists do and you should look to science about your diet.

Whatever, hope tg is on the upswing and hope everyone is happy and healthy!

    Uh Huh.

"High levels of cholesterol can increase your risk of heart disease. With high cholesterol, you can develop fatty deposits in your blood vessels. Eventually, these deposits grow, making it difficult for enough blood to flow through your arteries.Jul 20, 2021" Mayo Clinic

"High blood levels of HDL cholesterol may actually be bad for you. The research linked it to a higher risk for heart attack, and even death." WebMD

"High HDL cholesterol levels not only don't protect you more, but they might be harmful. In one study, people who had HDL cholesterol levels above 60 mg/dL were nearly 50% more likely to have a heart attack or die from heart disease." Medical News Today

Should I find more, there is a ton of this info out there.

Again... read the studies and read some books that debunk what your saying. Even your beloved a.h.a. disagrees with you. Do you think your liver does not produce cholesterol?

The liver produces more cholesterol than you could ever eat. You need cholesterol to live. Your cholesterol can be too high from your diet and it can cause heart disease. Go and read the best foods to eat to reduce cholesterol. I don't understand what this conversation is about, it's like you're saying high cholesterol is a good thing and it's not. If your HDL is over a certain number you're in trouble.

I'm not saying super high cholesterol levels are great.

I AM saying cholesterol does not do what you think it does unless glucose is present.

That's why I don't eat French fries all day.

Or grilled cheese sandwiches all day..

I do eat eggs all day.

    Fish.

    Meat.

    And trying to eat organs.

Also throw in some fasting as well.

You think cholesterol is this boogeyman man when the real boogeyman man is glucose.

    Do you not understand?

Again.. whatever. Enjoy your high carb diet.

    Done now?

I think saturated fat is a boogeyman for dementia and Alzheimer's, definitely. As far as sugar goes, I have not eating sugar since 1973, hand on the Bible. I have not had a Coke or a candy bar or stick of gum or piece of cake in almost 50 years. I went on a diet it was totally carbohydrate free for 4 months and I was at a seminar where they had glazed donuts for free and I ate four of them and passed out. My pancreas pumped out so much insulin and sucked so much sugar from my blood that I lost consciousness and I had to be taken to the emergency room. That experience scared me so badly anybody who knows me will tell you I have not eaten sugar in any form since then. So I totally agree, glucose is poison. Literally. Sugar has zero nutrition value, our bodies did not evolve digesting it so we don't know what to do with it. Refined sugar causes nothing but havoc in our bodies and it's in everything. I eat no processed food, I cook everything from scratch. I look at the ingredients of everything I buy and sugar has to be in the less than 2% category for me to buy it.
I bake my own bread, keto of course, I make my own mayonnaise. I've been on keto for 5 years I never had one day when I ate more than 20 grams of carb. I see pictures of men that I graduated with in high school and they weigh 300 or 350 lb and I am within 15 lb of my ideal weight as a senior citizen. And that's because everything I read says if you're over a certain age you should have 12 or 15 lb of extra weight to protect you when you get sick. If it wasn't for that I would be at the exact weight I should be at. So yeah, sugar is poison. I don't even eat fruit cuz of fructose.

    Well then..

It seems we agree on something. While I will disagree with you on saturated fats, if your resting glucose levels are at 85 then bravo to you. Mine sits at 87. Agree to disagree my friend and happy holidays!

It's not ME you are disagreeing with, it's peer-reviewed study after study that shows the effect of saturated fats in causing dementia and Alzheimer's. You have access to other studies that show that saturated fat has no effect on it? Please post the links.

Can't cite studies because even the one you cite it does not say of carbs were left out of the study.
