Make sure you pack some eye wear protection, you know just in case. I would go the new mini camera eye wear protection, just for the replay feature, some close calls are worth the review, try the slow mo replay.
    Lol.
    Cheers

Thank you KJ. I still have a long road. It's weird. Those doctors said many things. But not one ever said I will be okay. So it's like in blackjack. Prove them wrong. I have no plans of giving up.
And if I did you warriors wouldn't let me.

Best wishes for a full recovery, Tater.

    Now, onto the dam story...

Back in the day when I was a young man I spent four months driving / wandering around the country; I met some hippy looking guys at Grand Canyon Village and we decided to check out sin city: I'd never been there.

I followed their van in my stripped down Chevy II; we stopped at Hoover dam to take the dam tour, parking our rigs curbside on the dam (back then the highway crossed the river on the dam, not on the since-built bridge).

After the tour was over it was dinner time, so we went in the van, got out sterno stoves and Dinty Moore stew, and cooked it, ate it, and then used a jug of water to wash the cook pot, plates and spoons; we let the little bit of greasy water collect on the road at the curb.

Well, a dam cop saw it and didn't want any dirty hippies on his dam, so he swaggered over and said what we did was illegal and that he'd arrest us if we didn't take the shirts off our backs and mop it up immediately.

We complied, as we sure as hell didn't want the cops to search us.

That dam cop...Welcome to Las Vegas!

That's terrible, V. You should have dropped your pants and mopped it up with your skivvies. As someone who played on a rec team featuring tie dyed uniforms, I appreciate the hippie provenance.

Hey Tater -- if you have a hankering for any reading material while you recover, let me know. I know you like hoops.

I have a friend, Murray Nelson, who wrote a bunch of sports books, mostly about the origins of hoops. If you get a chance, look him up on Wikipedia or Amazon. Murray coached me up in some adult leagues. I'm still not sure how I feel about him starting two women ahead of me, but such is life. If you want to pick out a book, I'll get it for you. Just check him out and drop me a line at [removed].

    Rest up.

P.S. One of the women played professionally in Europe. The other had the Penn State assist record at the time. I still think I played better defense -- LOL.

Oops. I put an A in there. It's spelled Murry. Hey, V -- he also did a Rolling Stones biography.

On that note, here is a link to what I have found to be one of the most useful and personally valuable things ever written.

It is a compilation of short Zen stories collected over the centuries; I find it helpful in plotting a course to navigate through life.

Although the writers are Buddhist the messages are non-denominational / universal.

We're in the fabulous city of Boston right now.

Here's the summarization of what went down on our final night in LV last Thursday.

I offered to meet Dan at the casino where I hit the $1.5million winner, so he could admit defeat and simultaneously destroy all his followers BS about it. I told him I was in LV and he came back and lied about my location. The only reason he did this was because HE DID NOT WANT TO BE THE ONE TO CONFIRM THE VP WIN.

After my saying I was at GVR and sending time and date proof I was there to Dan, he claimed up, claiming he was "sleeping" after a night of degenerate gambling as a poker addict.

I told Dan I needed an answer if he would meet up with me at the casino where I hit the win, by 5pm because unlike him, I was with my wife and niece, and they agreed to give me a 7-10pm window to embarrass the hell out of Dan and all his overly hopeful dumbass followers.

Yet Dan remained silent UNTIL HE KNEW IT WAS TOO LATE FOR ME TO MEET WITH HIM. He was aware that if this wasn't confirmed by 5pm I had to commit to dinner etc. with Cindy and my niece before we left for Maine at 11pm.

Bottom line is, this turned out no different than when max and kew VOWED to meet me in Az. to view my Newell. But when SHIT GOT REAL, they both retreated into their little safe spaces, where they could questionably continue to deny what they knew was true all along.

There are cowards and there are cowards. Dan Druff has again proven he is one of the biggest cowards of them all.

Kew--again you choose to spin. The casino where I hit this has banned me from playing VP there again--and not entering the property.

That's why you're there and I'm here. Losers will be losers.

Too funny that Druff's excuse for going MIA was because he was sleeping until 7pm.

Hey, MrV. I just won 1.6 million playing video poker at an unnamed casino in an unnamed location. Want to meet me in an hour to verify it? I have a date with Lady Gaga at 3 AM, so you understand that the window is a little tight. Respond in the next minute and a half if you want the proof.

Goddamnit, MrV! Where were you? I gave you three full minutes, which is twice what I promised. You doubters and losers just don't want the proof. It's disgusting! Now you'll probably say that I didn't give you enough time to demonstrate that I won your lifelong dream jackpot. Well, loser, some people have commitments!

Let's hope Gaga doesn't kill herself too.

Druff got my GVR proof at 1:00, which he read at 1:07. He had 4 hours to respond. Instead, he chose to say it was nappy time.

Since you failed that one, where's your weird excuse for him lying about my not being in LV when I offered to meet? Answer: your hero had no intentions to meet from the get-go. That's why he lied on his forum.

THE PERFECT STORM just got better!

The real perfect storm is a dumbfuck geriatric with a micro penis diagnosis spending 20 years of his life making up stories to strangers on the internet. Thank fuck you’ve managed to evade psychiatric assessment. The ongoing comedy has been unparalleled. LOLZ

What the geriatric doesn't mention (I gotta watch that line -- I turn 65 next month myself) is that I have volunteered to visit him and his family wherever they may be in this fine country to evaluate his evidence of winning (why would I disbelieve him?) and film a "Where's 1.5 mil Waldo?" documentary. All he has to do (I'll pay for the videographer) is provide a time and place and agree to answer the basic classic journalism questions -- where was it won, when was it won, who verified it, and provide interview time with some family members so they can talk about the impact of the 1.5 mil and if it changes their summer plans.

It would be great for all involved. I need to pin it down, including the family members, to do it before August 7, however. Anywhere is good. I've never been to South Dakota -- sounds like a fun time. My friend, a young filmmaker, has been working in Boston on a movie for the last three months, so I'm sure he could recommend some great stuff to do in Boston. Asheville would also be great. Rob could visit the in-law homestead and we could tour the Biltmore. I love the Biltmore.

While proof of staying at Green Valley Ranch is quite impressive, I'm afraid I'd need more than a GVR receipt to agree on the 1.5 mil winnings as reality. And no, dry cleaning receipts aren't quite enough, either. But hey, I'm more than willing to video all of these fine proofs of Rob being uber bourgeois. I will need a tad more regarding the jackpot, however.
