I find the toteboard to be very
    useful in validating my selection.

I download the toteboard data about
8-10 minutes before post time. I
look at the win, place, show and
exacta payoffs. I think it helps
to show where all the money is going.

This is a lively horse racing forum no doubt. Yes, the tote board tells you where the money is going. Very observant.

In the Sport of Kings you have to be approximately 20% better than the rest of the dreamers to break even. The state, track, trainers, jockeys, retirement fund (horses) injured jockey fund and more get their cut first.

Here’s a tip. Try to figure out who is cheating with their charges. Not easy to do, but doable. A little backside time is helpful. AM works for starters. Grab a coffee a donut or two and hang with the folks that put on the game. The connections will go to incredible lengths to setup a horse.

The sport is rich. Casinos are depressing.

The tote board doesn’t mean jack squat.

it can be done but is hard to do if you are talking about where the barn money is being bet

One must first learn Spanish to figure out where the “barn money” is going.
