It took 6 hours and $25 charging fees to drive over 378 miles to Vicksburg. Happily, the hotel and casino promos ensured it would be worth while. Yes, I have paid some casino 'tax' but it is much softer than if I had driven on my own.

What works is the promo intervals are on roughly a week-by-week schedule. So you arrive at the end of one and stay over to the beginning of the next, use both. If there are more than one casino with some offset, you can do the same for the second and even the third.

For casinos, promos bring in players from 'day trip' distances for modest costs. For players, it ensures the trip will have some value.
