Giz, I think you are talking about roulette. This is the baccarat section of the forum.

i think there is some progression where you can go distance but it requires 2 wins in a row .. does anyone know about it?

Star is slow and can be dangerous IMO. Pretty easy to lose the first 9 steps and get into recouip mode. Maybe you'll like this for 14 steps someone showed me. It's a hybrid of Holloway and Oscar.
    111 (-3)
    2222 (-11)
    333 (-20)
    44 (-28)
    55 (-38) 14 steps.
Keep the same bet until get a win. When lose the unit loss determines the next bet. The unit loss to date bets the next higher level. So say you lose the 111 222 and win 2 = -7. -7 is in between (-3) and (-11) so you bet 2 units next. Say you lose 2 more 2's IAR and win a 2 =-9 now. -9 in between (-3) and (-11) so you still betting 2 units.

You don't move up until you are losing in between Say your down 15 units. Now your bet is 3 units. Very safe with slow escalation.

    Cheers

The rules/procedure would be handy for the mongoose.
The way i play my losing runs are usually 2 or 3 but occasionally 4 or 5 and the ones i really worry about are the 6,7 and 8 's(the largest to date.) I don't like betting big amounts ,oscars grind appears to work at the moment but i am concerned about digging a big hole which i cannot get out of.

i have found the mongoose method, not keen.
has anybody used 1,1,2,2,3,3 etc coming back once after a win until a new high is reached (slow and steady.)

I don't like betting big amounts too.
To prevent digging a big hole in oscars grind, you need to stop once you notice long streaks of losses coming.
