I haven't offered a lot of criticism of BBB, because I have always gotten along pretty well with her. But I do think her style of moderating is very heavy handed. Part of a general over-moderation on that site.

In this particular case (Hey Slick), suspending someone for something said on another forum is really weak. To my knowledge it was not part of the rules or acceptable until Wizard Banned me for something said on another site. I just don't know where these people get off thinking they have authority over what someone posts on a different site. BBB, if you are reading and I suspect you are....BE BETTER THAN THIS.

Even if Hey Slick's comments, something to the effect of "I hope she bans me" were made on the WoV site, I don't think that any mod should take that opportunity to do so. That is just a little voicing of one's frustration and shouldn't be taken literally. I remember back when I was banned, there was a member with the handle "How Many" that voiced similar frustration. He said something like "KJ Banned, 1BB banned, Qfit still here. I am out of here. Go ahead and nuke me". And Wizard still hot as he tends to be, did just that.

The result yet another decent, positive contributing member, gone for no real reason. Good site administrators and moderators don't act in this fashion. They don't get rid of good members just because they can. You try to calm the situation. Give people a chance to calm down. And listen to and maybe address their concerns. The goal should be to keep good members, not get rid of them, because you can.

I know Face claims there's no bias on WoV and I cant blame him for sticking to the company line but we all know theres tons of bias there....

Sure, you can ask. First, nothing was pending. It may seem so because his message immediately preceding this message did contain somewhat of a turnabout where he said he would speak to Zuga. But I had not yet seen that when I wrote the PM in question. So to me there was nothing "pending" at the time I wrote what some of you perceive as a threat. Just more back and forth in a 4 month ongoing...."back and forth".

What did I expected? In my mind it wasn't the threat that some perceive it was, although I can see why some might come to that conclusion. I will share exactly what I was thinking. Since Michael had admitted that he handled the situation poorly, but could not, or would not remedy the situation for fear of consequences from Norm, I simply wanted him to know there were consequences the other way as well. And I don't consider it a threat, because everything I said I am doing or intend to do. I am still raising the issue of how he handled this and how dishonest he was every chance I get and will continue to do so. It was just a heads up to him, that this wouldn't go away just because he refused to man-up and address it.

I also want to say this supposed 'deal' was never likely to happen. Inserted into this deal were stipulations that I would never have agreed to, like that I needed to apologize to Norm for things I said on another site. Also at the last second he informed me, that he needed to 'clear' the arrangement with Norm, when I didn't even know Norm was part of the process. He also mentioned that I would be on probation. And I am sure what was coming next was that I wouldn't be allowed to mention, discuss or give an opinion of Norm, his forum, or those on his forum. In other words, more or less a continuation of the "truce" and I would have never agreed to that. I will not give up my right to express my opinion. Never.

I find it incredible that one person here who's new to the thread wants to totally ignore all of the cogent arguments made by Kewlj and the rest of us here...............and instead he wants to focus on one little statement made by kewlj.......as if that invalidates all of teh said cogent arguments

I like this analogy, LP9. I have been trying to think of a good analogy highlighting that certain follow-up behaviors would be completely irrelevant had the initial offense not occurred. This is as good as any.

 

Let's delve into this a little further. Let's take a closer look at that embarrassing 24 hour period that could only muster 177 measly member visits.

The site boasts 12154 members. Only 24 members posted in that 24 hours. I can hear them now crying foul saying but but but.... there are only 7216 active members. Then why lie and count people who can't post as members? Can't have it both ways. Okay, lets use the 7216 active member figure. That brings it up to a whopping 2.4% that posted. Feel better now? I wouldn't.

Those 24 members made a paltry 41 posts. The cult would like everyone to gloss over that but the facts don't lie. There's very little gambling talk over there. People are realizing that they don't have to go to a so called gambling forum to talk about other things. And they know that they can discuss things on other, better suited forums without having to walk on eggshells.

There are many excellent political forums. They are gay forums for those so fascinated by the lifestyles of others that they just can't help bringing it up every chance they get. Who's really got the issues here? I'll bet there's even a forum about the Miata.



The abhorrent treatment of KewlJ has opened a lot of eyes. Ironically, manboy's "friend" Norm had a big hand in it. With friends like that....wow! People are now taking a closer look. They are objecting to things that they wouldn't have looked twice at because it didn't affect them. They are asking on what grounds people like HeySlick got banned. They are witnessing the abuse of power from the out of control egomaniacs.

 

Correction: That's less than 1.5% of total members who logged on using the 12,154 number. Want to use the other fake number? Good. That 7,216 number brings it up to 2.4% that logged on...not posted. Nothing short of abysmal.
