This thread is probably aimed more at beginners and will hopefully help you to understand a bit more about Single vs Series. Sometimes we read things and don't fully understand them because maybe we are afraid to ask an established member about such things.

I should add that I am no expert myself either but I can relate the basics and then anybody who finds it interesting might want to do further research on their own.

So let's take Banker or Player, we will call them either Single or Series depending on whether they consist of either one single spin (Singles) or several of the same type (Series)

The table below shows the ideal appearance of Singles and Series in 64 consecutive spins on a double even money chance such as either Banker or Player.

    Screenshot 2023-10-07 202954.png

As you can see, the number of Singles is the same as the number of all Series. 16 vs 16.
The number of Series of 2 (8) is equal to the number of all series greater than 2. (4,2,1 and 1)

For anyone reading the Ching-A-Ling thread, the original author chingy711 came up with his idea after recognizing the following...

''The strategy is based on streaks of red and black.
All your bets will be determined by the color of the
prior spin. The theory behind the strategy is that
the law of appearance states all series of even money
chances will account for 3/4 of all trials and single
even money chance only account for 1/4 of those
trails. A series is 2 or more of the same (RR, BB, RRR,
BBB, RRRR, BBBB, .....) If you were to run a RNG
test of 100,000 spins, 75,000 of those spins would
approximately account for series of 2 or more and the
remaining 25,000 spins would account for single events.
I know it may sound crazy, but it is true! The Laws
of Distribution and Appearance can easily be verified.
Yes there will always be deviations but if you ran
many test you’ll see the ratio always comes near that
3/4 series to 1/4 single events. The theory of this strategy
is to try to capitalize on those series of red and black.''

So let's take a look at the chart above.

    16 singles = 16.
    8 series of 2 = 16.
    4 series of 3 = 12.
    2 series of 4 = 8.
    1 series of 5 = 5.
    1 series of 7 = 7.

If I add up the Series (16+12+8+5+7, I get 48.)

And so the Singles = 16 vs 48 for the series and as chingy711 noted, that is a ratio of 3/4 to the Series over the Singles.

You can analyze any section of consecutive spins of any permanency and you will find the same results. (allowing for normal deviations)

    Thanks

An idea popped into my head for this today and so I will share it.

    Looking at the following shoe...

I am going to use a count and divide the Singles and Series separately.
I will do each side separate to begin with so it doesn't look messy.

    B
    B
    B
B 0/4 (This means no singles as of yet and a run of 4)
    P
    B
    B 0/6 (Another series)
    P
    B
    B 0/8 (Another series)
    P
    P
    P
    B
    B
    B 0/11 (Another series)
    P
    B
    B
    B
    B
    B
    B
    B
    B
    B
    B 0/21 (Another series)
    P
    B 1/21
    P
    B 2/21
    P
    P
    P
    P
    B 3/21
    P
    B
    B
    B
    B 3/25
    P
    P
    B
    B
    B
    B
    B
    B
    B
    B 3/33
    P
    P
    B 4/33
    P
    P
    P
    P
    B
    B
    B
    B 4/37
    P
    P
    B 5/37

Straight away, you can see that figure is a bit skewed and it's certainly nowhere close to the 3/4 average.
The Series starts off very strongly and could be pounced upon and then once it gets to 0/21, it pulls back with 3 singles taking it to 3/21 before it produces another couple of series.
After that first single to make it 1/21, a bet could be made looking for another single or two to have a bit of regression.

Let's look at the Player side and see what transpires...

    B
    B
    B
    B
P 1/0 (It starts of with a single)
    B
    B
    P 2/0 (another single)
    B
    B
    P
    P
    P 2/3
    B
    B
    B
    P 3/3 (another single)
    B
    B
    B
    B
    B
    B
    B
    B
    B
    B
    P 4/3
    B
    P 5/3 (another single)
    B
    P
    P
    P
    P 5/7
    B
    P 6/7 (another single)
    B
    B
    B
    B
    P
    P 6/9
    B
    B
    B
    B
    B
    B
    B
    B
    P
    P 6/11
    B
    P
    P
    P
    P 6/15
    B
    B
    B
    B
    P
    P 6/17
    B

The average here is pretty much spot on towards the 3/4 range.
The player produces a good run of singles early on to counterbalance the Series on the Banker side.
So by keeping this count for both sides, it's possible to see what's currently happening within the shoe and can be bet accordingly.

I will look into it some more. At the end of the day, I suppose it's just another form of trending.

Let's say you're betting for singles, what kind of deviation would you wait for before you would commence betting?

IMO, Player singled because we are under Banker domination.
    B dom = runs
    P weak = singles
