Does anyone in those US States where online gambling is illegal have any experience playing in online "Sweeps Stakes" casinos using their "Virtual Coins"? Is it all just fake money? Or is this a legit, legal workaround of casino gaming laws to offer a 1 to 1 exchange of fake money for real money after you win and go for a payout? I'm in Oregon now, one of those states, and I don't know if I should screw around with this at all, or just play overseas casinos.

    Hey Georgie,

I was told about these sites a few weeks ago, and have fully immersed myself in all things Social or aka Sweepstakes Casinos. It is 100% legit as I have cashed out from multiple sites. Happy to share what I have learned along the way.

Hi, I appreciate your reply. Thanks.

I really just wanted to hear from an actual user to confirm they are legit, so you don't need to explain the lengthy rules that I see posted on the casino website. But could you tell me the basic idea in just a few sentences?

Are the "Gold Coins" always valueless currency that we would use for training/practice? And the green "Sweepstakes Coins" (SC) are the currency worth US $1 for 1 (SC), that we would use for real money bets, then redeem 1 for 1 for real money cash outs?

The only real reason for this dick-dance is for a legit, legal workaround for gaming laws in states where online table games are officially illegal - is that right?

I just came from PA, where especially in the last few years, the selection of regular legal online casinos has been pretty decent. Is that where you are now (I see your avatar says PA)? If so, is there an advantage for you by using these Sweepstakes table games vs regular online casino table games?

    Thanks again Man!

Yes you nailed it. GC's are play money and the loophole the legal counsel found to classify these online casinos and sportsbooks as "sweepstakes" sites. The Sweeps coins are what you redeem for real cash or gift cards. Yes I'm in the Philly burbs. The advantage is you can obtain Sweep coins in numerous ways. if you send me a direct message I can share more I don't want to get banned here for posting my spreadsheet link that will save you a ton of time.

Thanks Brother. I appreciate that. If there's a way for me to send Direct Messages (which I believe this website calls "Private Messages" [PM]), I don't know how to do it; but I think there's some sort of minimum posts, or likes, or something like that before we can send PM.

But that's okay. I'll take your word for it. You don't need to send me anything. You've given me enough confidence to go for it with real money. I'll get back to you in a few weeks or so and give you a personal progress report on it. First I have to get my drivers license changed to OR, because they won't let me buy any SCs with my PA DL residency and bank card. I'm seriously considering just moving to Reno or Vegas.

Scam Alert: Pure Gold Casino Withholding Winnings

    Message:

I deposited $30 into Pure Gold Casino and won $2,000,000. However, when I tried to withdraw my winnings, the casino informed me that I must reach a Silver Level, which requires an additional deposit of $4,000—something I simply do not have.

They claim that to withdraw my winnings, I must deposit more money to meet this arbitrary "level," which is a clear red flag. This is a common tactic used by fraudulent casinos to prevent withdrawals and to get players to deposit more money without ever intending to pay out their winnings.

I have tried withdrawing a smaller amount ($1,000), but they have refused to process it, citing the same requirement of reaching the Silver Level. At this point, it is evident that this is a scam designed to take money from players without honoring payouts.

    Red Flags:

Unrealistic Withdrawal Requirements: No legitimate casino requires extra deposits to withdraw winnings.

Unfair Conditions: The casino has a fake "Silver Level" that prevents me from withdrawing, despite my large winnings.

Delayed or Denied Withdrawals: Even smaller withdrawal attempts are being blocked.

I advise anyone considering this casino to stay away and avoid depositing money into their platform. I am also considering reporting this incident to the appropriate gambling authorities and filing for a chargeback with my bank.

Warning: If you have deposited money here, be cautious—chances are, you'll never see your winnings.

Sorry to hear that - I have not heard of that one. I've stuck with the known ones and have cashed out with multiple, and some offer gift card option at a lower redemption amount. Just went with a Amazon GC last night... I started a thread at footballguys on this as well if you want to share what each other has learned with these sites.

    "lower redemption amount"

Does that mean they'll pay you more than 1:1 if you're willing to take a gift card?

Or does that mean they give you less?

The bonus play through requirement is lower for gift cards usually $50 as opposed to cash payout set at $75-100. For some gift cards the sites will pay out an additional 1-20% if you choose the gc. option. One thing ive noticed is the sites are getting pressured by the state AG’s. Two have exited my state in the last month. You know the giants in the space are lobbying hard to get rid of them. Huge threat to the brick and mortars.
