Blackjack Splitting 10s for cover, splitting 10s for profit

Do any of you know if the loss in EV of splitting 10s at low counts would be good cover for splitting 10s at high counts? Would the profit of high count splits adequately make up for the low count splits or would it be too little to be worth it?
I was wondering if this would make them think that you just like to split 10s when the mood strikes you, but then again it could simply draw too much attention and not help cover at all. I'm not sure and would not want to implement it unless I knew that the profit of the high counts would be worth it and the casino would not care. I have no idea though how the potential profit would measure against the potential heat.

It's fine if you don't overdue it - establish yourself as a "10-splitter" against 4-5-6 in low counts, SPARINGLY.

 

I don't split tens what's the benefit of doing that! I do not see any with splitting tens so I never do it. I think its a dumb move!

 

It's not worth the attention it would draw. When you say "low counts" do you mean negative counts? Because if you do you really have an uphill battle. The count has to be high to make splitting 10s barely profitable; but splitting 10s in low or negative counts is very costly.

 

I only split tens when the guy next to me is smoking a cigar. I'll also stand on ridiculous low hands. All at table minimum.
Tempting as it can be, it's got to be harmful to your long term play to even occasionally split them in high counts only.
If you are splitting them half in high counts and half in low counts, where is the advantage over never doing it at all, unless your spread is monstrous.

 

I used to split 10s years ago if the count warranted it. Now I still do, except when a suit is within "noticing distance" or I don't want to push my luck. I've had the dealer questuin whether I could split a mixed marriage. Talk about scrutiny.
