ok, so this is the last empty forum and so the last one my ocd compels me to fill up! :D

if this is a sort of catch-all for any gambling that's not covered in the other forums, that kinda begs the question. what other gambling is there that isn't already covered in all the other forums?

Like Sicbo, a nice casino game. There can be many other kinds of gambling that could not get separate sections here. All of them can be talked here without messing the main boards assigned to a particular game.

 A discussion about the mathematics behind the dice/cards/wheel is always incisive.
    For example:
If you roll a 6 sided die, each side numbered 1 through 6, 6 times, the chances of rolling a 1 at least once is the opposite of not rolling a 1 six times in a row. So the first throw, you have a 5 in 6 chance of not rolling a 1 and multiply that by the second throw and the third, etc.. and you get a formula:
(5/6)^6 or 0.3349.. take that from 1 and you get .6651.. So the chances of rolling a 1 at least once when you roll a 6 sided dice 6 times is .6651..
Same can apply to one of those wheel of fortune games where you have a very large wheel split into sections:
If you spin a wheel with 10 equal sections, each numbered 1 through 10, 10 times, the chances of spinning a 1 at least once is 1 - (9/10)^10 or .6513..
If you spin a wheel with 100 equal sections, each numbered 1 through 100, 100 times, the chances of spinning a 1 at least once is 1 - (99/100)^100 or .6340..
If you spin a wheel with 1000 equal sections, each numbered 1 through 1000, 1000 times, the chances of spinning a 1 at least once is 1 -(999/1000)^1000 or .6323..
If you spin a wheel with infinite equal sections, each numbered 1 through infinity, an infinite amount of times, the chances of spinning a 1 at least once is 1 - ((n-1)/n)^n as n approaches infinity or .6321.. which happens to be 1 - 1/e where e = Euler's Number or Euler's Constant or the Compound Interest number. It's one of the most important numbers in Math.

Math and gambling are intimately related.

A very nice example and well stated.
But spinning that infinite-sectioned wheel that many times seems even more tedious than all the snow shoveling I had to do today in Northern Illinois!

How about "prop" bets like how long the national anthem at the Super Bowl will take in duration, over/under 113 seconds?

Whether that ugly ground hog shadow will appear?

Some gamblers will bet on anything - like how far the cockroach will crawl up the wall.

that must have been painful! how are you guys doing now?

true that! i once (long time ago!) bet a friend who could finish a huge tub of double fudge brownie ice cream faster. we bought 2 tubs and neither of us finished it, so neither of us won, and all we had to show for it was a stinking headache! but boy was it delicious trying!

In the context of gambling, "miscellaneous" refers to various types of betting or games that do not fit into specific, well-defined categories like casino games, sports betting, poker, or lottery. These are often less common or niche forms of gambling that may not have their own dedicated category but are still offered in certain settings.

Keep in mind that the legality and availability of these miscellaneous gambling activities can vary by location, as different jurisdictions may have their own regulations and restrictions. As with any form of gambling, it's important to approach these activities responsibly and be aware of the potential risks involved.
