I am so tired reading/hearing various casino ads calling it gaming instead of gambling. Gaming is for the younger loons at home playing video games for hours on end (lol).

I know why they (casinos) dont call it gambling, it sounds too addicting or bad for society etc.

The political correctness pisses me off I guess. Who refers to roulette as GAMING? What a damn joke!!!

The concept of "gambling" is gaming, the mechanics and systems.
But Video game is very different from gambling games.

No I do not agree with you. The game does not imply feelings of excitement, passion and willingness to give everything for one last chance!

I agree that gambling is more than gaming because it has an addiction

I think the stigma around gambling is what's causing this. Naturally, horror stories and addiction gives the industry a bad name, which is why the term 'gaming' is used.

However, the new wave of casinos challenging the status quo and forcing traditional online casinos to clean up their act is helping to remove that stigma.

You only have to look at Play Ojo, Betfair and Sky Vegas to see the new standards that are being set. Also, Bet365 have started a campaign for responsible gambling week and I think that's great for the industry!

Absolutely Jack, especially here in the UK. I play at those sites, (not so much Betfair now) and they do set the standards for fair and responsible gambling. I see 'gaming' as 'computer games', 'console games' etc. Gambling is gambling in my eyes!
