    The reason dates back when the original monkeys invented the game of baccarat in the jungle. Instead of using profanity or curse words, they just yelled at each other, “monkey” because they didn’t have any names. So I believe that’s how this all came about. Makes a lot of sense if you ask me.

    I'm not sure if this is true but I was told that phonetically the English word monkey in Mandarin sounds like the Mandarin word face or picture. So Mandarin speakers yell monkey meaning picture card or face card. Next time I go I'll ask my Chinese buddies if that's true or not.

    Monkey sounds like Monarchy. It's also a cryptic remark about leaders of countries and the elite. It would be like Bureaucrats in America and yelling "Rat" "Rat."
