This topic was created to talk about the Captain and his existence (real or not) but has quickly turned into another "let's spread some more lies" posts and this time it's about Howard R&R. Not sure why the Admin is allowing these "Off Topic" posts to continue on this thread. I for one would like to hear the conversation about the Captain continue and would like to see proof.

"I’ll name names and/or handles and what they were about." Please go through the book again and see that I did use names and/or handles. Yes, I wrote that. And it was true then and it is true now.

You have to be kidding me if you think I am asking you to apologize to Howard for any other reason other than for what you have written.

Okay, I think I realize that no shame exists in you for these threads and it isn't intelligent for either of us to keep going. You've had your say and I've had my say and that is that.

As far as the Captain, I offered proof of the people (including students), a casino host, and a casino executive who met him and some who played craps with him and the hundreds of people who met one of his Crew members named Satch. More than this is impossible for me to do.

By the way, just as a point of fact: I did not bring up Howard or any of these sexual topics. Harley did. Just go back over this thread and you will see. For me this thread is one of the rare times I have asked someone to apologize for what he has written, not about me (I don't ask for apologies for what's written about me) but for someone who is being wrongfully hurt by posts.

As for criticism of my books, DVDs, television shows or articles (or me personally), that is just the way it is when you are in the public eye. I understand that.

    Truth is...

The Captain is real if you want him to be real. If you believe that you can 'control the dice' then you see the dice being controlled.

Your belief colors your reality, and I find that when it comes to belief, there is often "no discussion" about this. Either you are part of the faithful believers or you are not. No middle ground, no gray areas. You are all in or totally out.

Cults come up in all sorts of places. You have religious cults, business cults, personality cults, but I never thought I see a casino cult till now. This 'dice influence' is a cult in my opinion and everything I have seen so far fits in with how cults operate right up with the lying, the purges and the name calling.

The only people who are gaining anything from all of this is the fat cat casinos who are laughing all the way to the bank with YOUR MONEY. They can careless what you believe because reality is what it is, and right now it is tilted to pour your money right in to their pockets. So, go ahead and believe what you want, get involved in one of these 'dice cults' or believe that The Captain is your savior and will show you the path to the money. And the casinos will just laugh at you while you try and try with these dice tosses and dice setting only to lose, lose and lose. Trust me, these casinos see you all coming from miles away and they got your number down really well.

    Wake up people!

Thanks but I am sure Mark V can speak for himself. If he is an advantage-player how does he do it without dice control? We know mere betting systems don't work. Video poker? Could be.

Harley why are you going to other threads to post the same things you posted here? Next you'll be doing this on other web sites.

Oh, my apology: I apologize for wasting everyone's time in these threads. I also already (for I have no idea how many times) have explained who knew the Captain and also that I used "names and/or handles" in my book.

You know what? Let me send a free copy of my book I Am a Dice Controller: Inside the World of Advantage-Play Craps! to those who want it. (I do have limited copies.) You can then read whether or not I did exactly what I said I would do. You will also be able to see how I dealt with Howard and all the other mistakes Harley made as he weaved his fictions concerning my book and Howard.

Equally helpful to all, I would like to send a copy of the Horseradish Kings " A Complete History OF Sandpaper".
I know the estate HAS 499,993 copies remaining. I will ask for a few.

Lets get off Howard, the only thing he has to do with this thread is that he has said he never met the Captain, nor did he know anyone that did!

That was way before Frank wrote his new book.

So there is no reason why we should be including Howard in this thread. Other then what he has told everybody over the years about the lack of ever meeting the Captain.

There may have been a guy that they called the Captain, but that doesn't mean that he had the roll that Frank said he did! The simple reason for saying that is nobody ever said anything about that roll except Frank!

Yes I play Craps. I have played in most of the North West Indian Casinos, in Reno NV, and on both The Strip, Downtown and out in Henderson NV. Harley and SuperRick can both verify that I do indeed play craps.

The definition of an Advantage player is when mathematically the game being playing has a positive expectation. This may be a combination of Cash winnings, points converted to cash, comp value and other perks that the casino gives you for your play.

As for my craps play, I am a very strict low house edge better only and I never make any Krazy Crappers bets, EVER! Mathematically I can get the house edge down to 0.27% at most LV casinos and depending on the casino, my player level with them and what promotions are running I can accumulate points that can be cash out or used for rooms/meals and other things I want. If with the value of the points is greater than my theoretical loss, I am then in an advantage play situation. Now, all of this is theoretical and depends on that the dice are fair and that the casino will rate me properly (both have both been known to NOT be the case)

With video poker I strive to only play perfect strategy on games with a return rate of 99.5% or greater. Again, with a promotion and players club level I most likely am in an advantage play position. I practice at home with the Video Poker for Winners software and on videopoker dot com.

Of course anything like a Match Play coupon, Free chips, bonus drawing tickets for rolling a 2 or 12, or getting a 4-kind in VP greatly help and raise the EV (expected value).

The position that Dice Control or Dice Influence is Advantage Play is spurious and unsupported. There never has been any verified proof that such techniques and methods work. Sure, theoretically with an on-axis toss you can achieve an SRR of 6.5 or greater and thus gain a 4% edge. But that is all theory, and does not take in account the table bounce that often sends the dice off-axis, and of course the diamond backwall that will surely destroy what is left of any on-axis toss after the table bounce.

Unless you are in to 'short throws' witch will probably last two rolls before you are 86'ed, the real life physics of the craps table simply will not allow for the dice control theory to work.

Furthermore, the introduction of unbalanced dice or 'biased dice' to the game adds additional house edge (4% up to 34%) to the game and thus further making the craps game a losing bet no matter how you play it.

I present to you that you have to shop around for your craps tables just as you have to shop around for the right video poker machine before you play. If you settle for tables or machines that have a high house edge, you only end up losing in the long run.

If you cannot find the right tables or machines, then the logical thing to do is not play.

Is there any verified proof that such techniques and method do not work? Or to your knowledge has there ever been a certified study grading the effectiveness of any techniques and methods relating to craps which only pertains to the toss? How and who would conduct such a test. In your opinion what would be the key factors you would look for?

Bill Zender, a casino security expert, has created a video to answer this question about the truth of Dice Control

I hate to say it but until one of our so-called experts on becoming a DI can show that their dice do in fact stay on axis, like they are selling everybody on, with slow-motion videos you are just buying BS!

Now everybody that knows me calls me a DI, but I tell everybody that I can not win with just my shooting, it take luck to win at craps. These on-axis DI schools tell everybody that they can not bet on the so-called random roller. That is just a line of BS, there were winners before they coined the words Dice Influencer and there still are.

There are a lot of time the only way I won was by some so-called random roller getting on a roll. The true money in Dice Control is selling classes and all the other junk these schools can sell.

The only fair test I can think of would be something like this:

1,000 rolls recorded by two neutral observers from the same shooter, using the same dice on the same table. The shooter cannot interact with anyone else, as in receive any coaching or advice from anyone during the testing. Testing would of course have to be done over several days at roughly the same times.
    ~
Testing has been done by consultants who have taken seminars and read all the books on dice control. Machines have been made to simulate the human hand tossing dice too. Nobody has been able to show any meaningful gain or advantage.
    ~
Glancing the dice off the backwall, right at the lip just below the diamonds, and then having the dice roll off is an exceptionally hard technique but will deliver you that mythical 6.5 SRR. Bill Zender is right, in that there may be one or two guys who can do this in the entire USA, but it won't be able to be done at just any casino. Only Craps tubs, and 10 foot craps tables. With the 12 and 14 foot tables the toss has to much energy in it that puts it in to the diamonds, and that destroys the on-axis toss, and any less energy will deliver a short throw or the dice rolling up to the backwall but not glancing off, and that most likely will bring heat fast.
    ~
There have been people who have recorded the rolls of famous dice shooters from time to time, though none of them achieved the mythical 6.5 SRR. I think the Wizard of Odds reports that one player was tracked at with an SRR of 6.1 as the only credible shooter to ever be tracked. Trip reports that are often posted on the Dice boards are often over-exaggerated where positive wins are boasted and losses forgotten about. Those clearly are not credible sources or can be offered as 'proof' that the method works.
    ~
It is possible that a High Lob of the dice, above the eye-line of the stickman, and landing right at the backwall will also create that glancing hit off the backwall and the dice remaining on Axis. Apparently this is how Frank describes The Arm shooting. Phil Ivy also shoots this way but he plays high enough to get away with it. The rest of us will get major stink from the casino and 86'ed trying that.

Mark V your comment on cults and in particular DI cults hit my rafter. I think I solved the mystery of why The Captain seems to have been a saviour and why he apparently desired to stay anonymous. I think the answer is obvious. The Captain was a huge Megastar:

Mark V, excellent answers. Dice control can be proven by anyone who thinks he has the skill. Two tests, the SRR and the SmartCraps can do it. Most people fail the SmartCraps tests (there are three of them). As for on-axis, this is not necessary to get an edge. But again, great post.
