Just got off JK'S long post on how he hates roulette. Well JK here is a good reason I hate Baccarat. Just a couple weeks ago I was in one of my friendly casinos. Dealers and the pit boss had commented the last few days that I like to come in get a few units and leave. Well when I arrived the pit boss and a dealer I didn't know started to whisper. Well maybe that wasn't about me. OK I might be paranoid a little. While I was concentrating on my play I got annoyed at the fact we had to tell the dealer not once but three times to draw a card. ALL three affected my outcomes by not drawing. OK we all make mistakes.
Three times the dealer began to scoop my winning bets. Had to stop him and get paid of course. Now my concentration was crap and yes I was losing to make all this worse. Then someone else not me realized he was taking double commission out on banker wins. Yes I lost composure, Yes I lost the game, Yes I paid double commission for what banker bets I won. And this is a multi million dollar casino? Sorry I can't play and do the dealers job for them. Do I think this was on purpose? You tell me....

Could just be a new dealer who they have rushed out to the floor and expect him to learn as he goes along.
A brand new multi-million complex opened up last year around 5 miles from my home and it would be easier for me to play there than travel the extra distance to the current place where I play. So I ask the manager in there ''where's the Baccarat table'' and he goes on to say ''oh, we don't get much call for that in here'' and tells me the dealers don't really understand the drawing rules anyhow. I thought no bloody way am I am playing Baccarat in here even if they could be arsed to open up a table and this is supposed to be a major gaming venue for the area!

So well it sounds like the dealer and pit boss could just be taking the mick, it's just as likely that they are nothing more than a pair of incompetent cretins.

Possibly, you have to remember the casinos are the kings of psychology. They will go to any lengths to trip a winning player up, literally any thing. The dislike players who make a few units then leave, giving them little chance of getting their money back, they want to keep players at the tables, expecting the HE to kick in.

Were you playing by yourself, didn't who players correct the dealer regarding the drawing rules? The games they sometimes play are unreal, telling other players how good somebody else is, so the target over hears this. Then the target player risks becoming complacent. I had a game over a year ago every shoe was choppy, I was playing OLD and winning each shoe. At the end of the shoe, most players will jump to another table, I stayed put. So the fat grub who was over seeing the table, whispered to the dealer, telling him to drop the cards when putting them in the shoe, which he did, it was so blatant, I said to him straight, "you did that on purpose".

He replied, "it won't take long", they wanted me to move. It takes about 10mins to shuffle, by the time they shimmy the cards on the table. So now I'm looking at 20mins down-time, 10 mins for the first shuffle and tray count. It fuckin' worked, I moved and they got their money back.

Like I say, it's all false smiles and fakery. Sounds like they made those mistakes to rattle you and it worked, you gotta be able to over come this, composure, composure. You gotta realise sometimes these things are deliberate, tell yourself, you're better than this, that you realise the game they are playing, but you'll rise above it. They succeeded in rattling you (just like a cocktail waitresses bugging a player every 5 mins), next time, realise what they are doing, keep your cool and be on top of your game.

Store this experience in your memory bank for future reference. As I posted in the Roulette forum, sometimes it can feel like warfare and is openly hostile, "a few more of them", get the fuck outta here.

    Good luck Porky...

One of the oldest tricks in the book, is to put on a slow dealer, especially if your losing and they see you still have chips left, adds to your frustation.

When we are down, we generally become in a hurry to bet, wanna make back our money. The reserve is also true, send in a fast dealer to take down a winning table. Happened to me years back in some flea pit in Canberra.

Table was doing well, some bitch comes in, starts pulling the cards like it's a BJ game, taping her hand in front of my box, asking "any more bets, any more bets", meanwhile I'm trying to figure out if I have a bet opportunity of not. I hate dealers asking me every hand if I want to bet, I know when I want to bet, so stop prompting me. I now speak up and ask them "are you encouraging me to gamble", telling them to stop as "it's annoying, I know when I want to jump in and when I don't".

Anyway the speedy gonzales bitch is zipping the cards out as fast as she can, pays the bets, zoom into the discard tray, "any more bets, any more bets". There is no time to think about bet amounts, consider "what if", it's just rush rush rush. Eventually she cleans out the table, literally everybody, including myself (another lesson learnt). Here's the gotcha...

As she is rotated off, with her back to the table, she takes two steps, fist pumps the air and goes Yesss. Disgusting, she was sent in to do a job and that is what she did. If the dumb minimum wage bitch had any sense, she would have at least had the sense not to broadcast her original intent.

Fuckin' unbelievable, I swear I will never ever fall for this shit ever again and it highlights what a bunch of cunts casinos around the world are like. The house edge isn't enough, they don't want you winning, period.

However this is mild compared to some of the lenghts they will go to stop winning players, next time maybe.....

    • Violation of Rule #2: No Disruptive Behavior. This is not in the AP section.
Always wanting to blame somebody else, when in reality it's your own stupid systems causing you to lose. Typical ploppieness.

It is rare that I come across a problematic casino employee. With the exception of positive interactions with casino personnel, I pretty much ignore their behaviour because it only distracts me from the task at hand. Your focus is crucial to your success... One distraction is bad, 2 is almost insurmountable, and 3 is dangerous to your bankroll well beyond the house advantage. I never engage in conversations with casino employees that have a detectable negative aura. How can I tell em apart ? I simply have no desire to engage in any way... they are doing their job and I have my mission to fulfil. They are background energy in the room...
If they create a negative moment, or have a comment... I just smile at them.

Whatever I do. I always try and maintain composure.
Never let them see you sweat it out.
Never let them see you relieved.
It is the emotional agitation that you succumb to that compromises your mental game. And it's 90% mental (MM) and 10% physical ( BS ).

Any visible signs of agitation from you is a victory for the casino. They have gotten under your skin, and they have observed what it takes to do so, and will now arm their weapons with that ammo.

Any visible signs of relief from you is strategic information for the casino. They can go back and analyse the situation that had you tense enough to demonstrate relief afterwards.

I try to be friendly at all times, and project an air of indifference to me winning or losing, leaving with a smile and a shrug as if that money lost or won had no value to me.

This takes away any joy they might get out of watching people lament over money lost. I also don't put on a production colouring up from a winning session. This prevents me from imposing negative feelings upon those that don't like it when someone wins. And without that small bit of antagonism on my part, it very subtly has a dampening effect on those that are ambitious to see someone lose. Myself, not being an emotionally rewarding target, would be looked over for a more rewarding mark.

It is their job to take the money from patrons, but is also something that gives entertainment or some sick pleasure. Take away the entertainment, and they are left with just doing their job. Which is boring, so they are more motivated to perform their job on patrons that provide something they can talk about during breaks than someone who takes the loss stoically, or even worse, with a friendly nonchalant smile, dismissing the value of the money, removing the sting and barb the casino enjoys.

It is a battle of subterfuge.

If I can get members of the staff to like me, and break onto the conscience of anyone who has a conscience left then I'm thwarting the casino's efforts to get their employees to think of me as a anonymous wallet. Nobody likes doing bad things to people they like. Even if it's their job, they will find a way to do the minimum.

I on the other hand, will never ever feel bad about taking the casinos money no matter how much I may like the staff. And there is nothing they or anyone can do to get me to play less seriously, or lower my win goal.

It's a war, at all times. I have no illusions that it is not. So I wage my own counter emotional warfare against the casino's employees the same as the casino tries to get their employees to do it to me.

It is imperative to maintain table composure, calmness during times of adversity.
Like J has said do the opposite of what the casino expects you to do. When you are losing act like you are winning, When you are winning, act like you couldn't care less.

Fuck with them without them knowing you are fucking with them. The power of subtlety is overwhelming.
    Keep em guessing.

If you are letting ANYBODY get inside your head then it's simply time to get up and leave. Just LEAVE and come back at a future time. The casino is not going anywhere. They will be there any time you want to revisit. Gambling Games of any kind are tough enough without being on Tilt. If anything is bothering you, dealer, floor person, another player, smoke, ANYTHING, just get up and leave. Simple as that.
