It's now the beginning of my 7th straight week without playing Baccarat. My last trip was in the beginning of March at Mohegan Sun....and even at that time the casino was relatively empty; especially the Bac tables, as most of the players ride the Asian bus lines, and they were mostly cancelled and/or empty.

7 weeks! I probably hadn't missed a total of 7 weeks in the past 40 years! I went every week to either Atlantic City or Connecticut. Baccarat pretty much exclusively for the better part of 40 years.

When I was working, I either went on weekends or on Thurs night/Fri afternoon trips. When I retired about 5 years ago, I've been going on 3 night/4 day trips EVERY week since. And, again, Baccarat exclusively.

So, from all of that to all of NOTHING. But here's the thing:

I'm fine with it. It's been a nice respite; a refreshing break. Am I getting a bit of "cabin fever"? Of course I am, probably just like most everyone else. But I'm also learning a bit more about myself than I knew in the past.

I actually CAN live without Baccarat. I actually can enjoy just simply relaxing and lounging around, as opposed to the pressure that accompanies casino gambling.

Yes, that's right, I said "gambling". While it is a known fact that I can play as good a game as anyone when it pertains to Baccarat, it still remains a "turn-of-a-card" gamble at each and every bet. To this day, even after all those 40 years experience, I still feel the pressure to perform at every session. Why?:

Because at every new session we must re-set our clocks to zero. Doesn't matter if you won your last 5 sessions...at this new session, we begin anew, at zero. And so we must do our best to replicate our previous successes; and that, my friends, is the very essence of pressure.

Add to that the pressure of "correct decision-making". Think of all the decisions that we make at each and every session: Bet or "No-bet"?....Bank or Player?....1 unit or 2?....Quit while ahead or play on? We need to be correct more often than not on those critical decisions.

Nah, I don't miss it. Rather, I'm enjoying the break; probably alot more than I'd have thought I would.

Stay safe everyone, and stay well. And enjoy your Baccaratless time.

    No you can't.

You're just as much as a losing gambler as the rest of the systems/methods suckers on here.

Mohegan Sun sounds...regional. :sour: I hope they at least have midi-Bacc there. Mini (or lower, like the stadium or, :spitoutdummy: electronic variety) - never touch the stuff. Strictly for squares.

If you're going to gamble do it only in Vegas, not in your own backyard.

Make sure they give you a nice suite, go with your gf/wife, dine and enjoy all the VIP amenities, dress up and wear a fine timepiece to the tables, and enjoy yourself.

Yes winning is all that matters in the end, but if you stay like a winner you'll do more than just play like a winner.

Thank you god , thank you for being so Omnipresent, I thank you so much for continually knowing everything about everything and everyone at all moments in time, both here in the known universe and also the unknown universe. Only you truly know that everyone else in this universe and all other parallel universes are lying. How I really look up to you and admire you for the truly inspirational and factual information you use to refute the lesser beings than yourself. Your posts are epic tomes of wisdom full of grace and understanding to truly show the masses the REAl YOU.
Simply outstanding father of star lord , oh god most supreme. Perhaps you could regale us peasants with more of your wisdom especially in regards to your AP ways, you know how you play machines etc , I mean slot machines and do a bit of wheeling and dealing you know some of the low life criminal deeds you do as an AP.
—Apart from saying your an AP like so many other clown gods that post they are APS, other than having to take your word for it none of you clown god AP ever proved they make any real money. But I guess that’s what being god means huh? Yet you let it dribble out the corner of your mouth when you post the inspirational epic tomes such as your recent post quoted. You may be able to wipe with a tissue but the stain still lingers.
Oh thanks God. JBS = just blue ship? Or words to that effect.
Really ,go on tiger, post how good you are as an AP . Or are you a failure and that’s the reason for your posts? Because you cannot do it must mean no one else can do it either, I mean obviously we’re not a god like you.
Ooooh that stain on the corner of the mouth it smells as bad as it looks.
    Cheers

O so this jbs claims to be some kind of low level slot cheat? That's, in the end, what these "AP's" are let's face it.

Even with the ones that claim to be making decent money after you calculate all the hours put in researching, travel time and expenses on their own nickel, staying at the place on their own nickel, eating on their own nickel, then pushing buttons mindlessly for hours on end...are barely making minimum wage. All the time sweaty palmed and hiding out from casino security. Big chiropractic bills from always craning their necks looking over their shoulders eat up what little they make. Bah.

Yes I read past posts most just copy and paste negative words, but one I remember was about black jack ,video poker and machines ie seems to me a zking type with a bit of axewif held together by found wet Tito paper. I mean that’s obviously a grandiose lifestyle that compels one to think of oneself as a GOD if I ever saw one. You just mind your place Mdawg don’t you get out of line especially as that god just broke sucker or words to that effect is omnipresent
    cheers

I'm not sure I understand exactly why my thread's been hijacked with these totally nonsensical posts, but I sure do understand why I hardly post on these forums any longer. There simply is no respect for anyone's point of view anymore; rather, it always seems to come down to a pissing contest.

I was trying to portray the inherent power of self-reflection in these trying times. Casino gambling in general, or Baccarat specifically, can not nor should not be the most compelling motivation to fulfill our lives. We are all just so much more than that, and it is for that sole reason that I am happy to have been virtually forced to gear down from my Baccarat exploits.

Don't get me wrong....I love the game and the challenges it presents. Moreover, I'll probably be one of the first players at the Baccarat tables when the casinos are able to reopen safely. So I will be back. But I'll be back with an even better insight about myself than I had before, and, trust me, I will most assuredly find a way to make that yet another asset in my overall Baccarat play. How so:

While I play a relatively conservative game, I still feel the usual emotions, and I still need to deal with them on a bet-to-bet and session-to-session basis. No one likes to lose. Not me, not anyone. But I've trained myself HOW to lose. I can walk a loss. If the cards aren't falling my way, I'll seek to abort the session at the earliest time that I deem most optimal, and that usually means either a relatively minor loss or, better yet, break even. I've trained myself to accept the inevitable minor losses as opposed to chasing them with more and more and higher and higher chips. Why risk so much to save so little, right?

And now, after this rather extended break from the game, I've come to the realization about exactly how right I was to train myself to accept the inevitable losses. My job then only becomes to minimize them, and on that account I know I've done a wonderful job. And now I have a much better perception with which to view my patient and disciplined game....no need to be in a hurry anymore. I sure as heck haven't been in a hurry these past few house-bound weeks. Baccarat takes a back seat now. All I've done is slow it done even further, and that can only be viewed as a good thing.

Losses, if controlled, become at the same time less-stinging and easily recoverable. And so we learn to walk a loss, as opposed to chasing it into a potential abyss. Why? Because life, both Baccarat- and real-life, will go on just fine. We will recover.

Stay safe and stay well, all.

This jbs guy is just sore that someone like me bets and wins more in a single hand than he earns all year, as jbs scrapes hides and scurries about like the little frightened mouse that all "AP" players are, as they try to make minimum wage. Not to mention that I don't gamble for a living anyway, and what I win at gambling is just for fun.

Let jbs post some proof that he even made a penny at gambling, the same level of proof I have posted. Yeah...I didn't think so.

Don't worry gr8player I hear you. I took a decade or so hiatus from all gambling, as I was too busy with life in general, and while I was over all ahead back then, I do understand what you mean in that I haven't had a losing trip since returning to play two years ago. Taking a break can help sharpen focus.

Speaking of being Baccaratless while we basically "shelter-in-place", how's everybody doing?

Nathan (Kurt), Soxster (Soxfan), Jimske (Jim), JunketKing (Johno), and others I've known for years on various other forums....how are you guys doing? Hopefully you're all kept safely within your confines.

The longer this goes the tougher it gets to remain confined. I was never one to sit idly at home, but I've learned to accept it and make the best of it. Here's hoping that holds true for all of us....take care, my friends.

gr8player thank you for sharing brother, I appreciate what you said and am glad you do feel like life goes on with or without baccarat.
you mention about taking small losses, and yes it is the most valuable lesson to learn.
walking away after losing a session dont make anyone a loser and just the oposite, makes you a winner.
anyone who's learn how to walk after losing is to me farther better in the long run then any genius out there who love to brag about percentages ,math, and how much they know.
it is not how much you know as much as WHAT YOU KNOW.
    Cheers

You crossed my mind a few days ago, as I think your in NY (was thinking who do I know lives there), given your age, the fact NY is/was being hammered in the last few weeks. Tough place to be right now.

Mentally things can get rough, not the isolation part, could be worse, like a prison cell. Rather coming to terms with everything, thinking how it was only a few months back, knowing it will probably never return (not in our life-time). When you step out for supplies, sometimes you forget to be careful, then you realise one silly mistake could be fatal.

As for Baccarat, couldn't care less, what good is excess money right now, if I won the lottery, where could I go, what could I do, other than strengthen the isolation!! I think of the casinos with the surly dealers, two-faced managers with the fake smiles and I'm pleased they are all closed.

I refuse to live in fear over this ridiculous covid "pandemic". I ain't played baccarats for a while even before this absurd lockdown. The pricks at my local got stingy and reduced the spread between min/max bets so put the kibosh on my style. But after buckin up against the proposition as my fulltimes gig for 12 year I don't miss it at all, hey hey.

You skipped how debilitating this compulsive typing of hey hey really is Ferguson!!

I do recall some "cat" (I use your colloquialism) over at WoV, describe it as cute. Imagine that, somebody calling your mental affliction "cute", did that upset you? <grin>. Yet in some confused sort of denial you call others members retards, are you sure bro?
