The recent snowstorms didn’t stop Brown Avenue Elementary School from holding its annual Blizzard Bingo Night, organized by the Brown Ave. PTO and held at the Johnston Senior Center. The families enjoyed ice cream sundaes, Munchkins and refreshments, as they played 10 games of bingo for a chance to win a night out at the movies. The event, chaired once again by parent Gina Silvia, was made possible with the help of donations from Cinema World, Dunkin’ Donuts, BJ’s Wholesale Club and Stop & Shop. Above, third-grader Alexis Pannone concentrates as she fills in one of the numbers on her bingo card.

My question is, how big is Bingo compared to other games in just the USA?

although i don't play bingo or have any friends that play bingo, i have a sneaking suspicion that bingo is pretty big but it's just played by a quiet demographic (i'm looking at you retirees in florida!) so it seems smaller than it is. i could be wrong, but it's a hunch.

If Florida residents of the golden years are so good at Bingo and marking those small squares containing numbers, how come they were responsible for 100,000 hanging chads in the Bush v Gore election?
