I was just thinking the other day how awful Sports bettors are treated now on the strip in terms of comp rates...it's ridiculous honestly.

Blog looks good, keep it up.

I did a comp survey about 10 years ago, and the Wynn wanted 20K per day to comp you dinner. That's rough by any standard.

Today, you're lucky to get $1 in comps for every $400 wagered most places, and there are no real discretionary comps. Brutal.

It's insane. So much has changed in LV the past 20 years.

I was watching a throwback video on Youtube the other day from 1996, where the person who shot the video just drove down the strip at that time, and the differences are so vast. Not just in the obvious hotel changes, etc, but things like food...On the marquee street signs of most of the majors were food deals like "Steak and Lobster = $7.99", etc. Food was just a giveaway to get you to play, the margins were near zero or even a slight loss for the Casino really.

You never see that now, it's always a celebrity-themed $100-per-plate nonsense restaurant on the marquee, along with promoting their $2000 bottle service night clubs. :D

Two interesting posts . Thanks .

Been there several times during the nineties l Favorite casino /hotel downtown Golden Nugget.

enjoyed downtown more than the strip.
