Hi, i'm new to this site, and i have never shared a hand before, and since it happened earlier today, i don't have the precise hand, but i remember it.

I was on button, he was BB, everyone has folded.

    I have Kh 4s

I raise with 3 BB, sb folds, BB calls

    Flop is

    4d , 9s , 6h

    I raise with 0.10 , BB calls

    Turn is a 4d

I raise with 0.15, he calls.

river is Jh, i raise with 0.30, he goes all in with a larger amount than me.

As confused as i am, i put him on a 4 as well, but since i have a king high kicker, i feel that i should call. I call, he shows 99.

Should i have folded? I was mad at myself right after, for not even considering if he had pocket pairs, but if this were to happen to me again, i would most likely be calling as well.

I'm new to the game, so please shed some light on it, and help me out. :)

It would be hard to believe the BB had a pocket pair I can see top pair or even two pair on the flop like 96, but its hard to put him on a set there or by the turn a boat. I don't like raising with that kind of hand myself even from the button because to me even against the blinds its easy to get into a troubled hand, but then again I'm a very conservative player.

He or she is not folding 99 to a late raiser, even if you raised the proper amount. Your min raise won't get most players without a pair to fold, bump it up next time. If they stay after you bet the appropriate amount on your continuation bet (2/3 or 3/4 pot), they probably have a pair, paired the board, on a draw. You still have nothing. If they call, take the free card if you can't shake a calling station at these low limits. gl
