poster Nathan Detroit used this phrase in another post

I would like to know what this means

for example, does this mean that if red has come 10 times in a row that on the next spin the chance of red coming is less than what would be calculated if black had come 2 times in row - considerably less than a 50% chance due to the house edge - unless there is a "diminishing probability"

if that is not what it means - then what does it mean?

As each spins are independant events, whatever the R/B sequence occured before your bet, you have 18/37 to be right on an EC bet. The probability would increase for your red bet if for example the dealer let the ball in a black pocket that hit in the past, and took another ball to play the next spin.

Whenever you expect a thing to happen like something must be due after all those red hits for instance, black must be due. That's a magical belief. You can believe it but it does not change the fact that the next spin is random and that there are 37 or 38 slots and only 18 of them are red. These formations, caused by colored paint and numbers, are just a construct. If they sanded all the paint and numbers off the wheels you would just have 37 or 38 slots. The odds come from the number of slots.

This question of a diminishing probability is more like speculation on real-estate while signs of a building recession are likely to occur. They call this the law of diminishing returns. Funny that too, because it looks more like reading randomness. But what is happening in the spec market is that the number of unsold homes are saturating the market. The balloon is about to break and the chickens all run scared and sell off at a small loss if hopeful.

There is no public reaction that causes the crash when it comes to Roulette spins. Everything that occurs is by coincidence. ND's question is a trap to see if people are fallacy oriented. He's just playing a game and amusing himself. He has been playing for decades.

I see it this way... it’s the difference between probability and likelihood

The probability doesn’t change since each spin is independent. It’s still 18/37

Now what is the likelihood that 20 blacks come in a row? It’s definitely probable.. but the likelihood is rare.. but it does and can happen

Just whether you’re lucky (or unlucky) to catch such a trend

Those 20 blacks; the Gizmo would either win on the 1st and if is the stronger side, he might go again, looking for his 3 net wins.
So if Giz lost twice; from listening he would miss the other 18 and be looking at the other sets

    Great point

Huge difference between probability and likelihood

    37 uniques can happen

    Will it? Never

Every 20 ec or 37 numbers are very rare, they become rare as soon as you focus on it.

I really don't see why it would be harder to see 20 black in a row than RBRBRRBBRBBBBBRBRBBB, but of course 20 black in a row is easy for your brain to notice it while the other serie is not easy to notice it. PEople should study brain 's deficiencies before playing that game, they would save money.

hopefully this post is not too obvious, anyway:

11 reds in a row is very unlikely
but once 10 reds in a row have come it is no longer very unlikely

there might be a 1 in 50 billion chance that you could get run over and killed by a charging elephant

but if you were in India and you saw one coming down the trail right at you you wouldn't stand still and say it's only a 1 in 50 billion chance

This system is only between 1 and 3 repeats of any EC. Not more .

You need to differentiate between two mathematical concepts.
First, probability in a spin to get an EC is 18/37 irrespective of past results.
Second, sequential probability of happening one thing for a particular span
like probability to get RRRRR is 1/32.
Here if you think to get 1/32 probability if you play against RRRR to get another R, it is wrong as it is merely 18/37 again.
If you play 100s of RRRR to break in next spin, you will see 18/37 probability of a single spin working clearly.
Lesson: You do not change probability of happening or non happening of anything with any methodology. Random will still be as much random.

You no longer play Nathan Detroid, rather swing in ya rockin' chair being a critic.

Bloody great Baccarat strategy you've been using for the last 25 years, I must say.
