I recently banned myself from all casinos on Alberta about 2 weeks ago due to winning a lot of money & not wanting to lose it all, but it was a stupid idea because of the fact that my friends go all the time & I am now left out. I am wondering if it is stupid to go back to a different casino (still in Alberta) & what are the chances of me getting caught (if I make some money)

Unfortunately, they have the permission to hold you to the terms of your voluntary ban. Of course, they're not required to do so, but if they choose to do so, you must "unban" yourself according to their instructions.

Bad move. You may not ever get back into those casinos. Most people that voluntarily ban themselves are compulsive gamblers. And the casino could expose themselves to lawsuits if they let voluntarily banned compulsive gamblers back in.

A voluntary or involuntary ban is for life and only valid in the State where the ban is registered in, but does not apply to Indian casinos. Unfortunately, you cannot unban yourself.

The realities is that nobody checks unless you hit a really big win, and I mean like a 100K or over size win where the casino boss comes down to shake your hand sort of win and you have to show lots of ID and such to get paid. In such a case if you are found to be on a ban list they can simply not pay you. Though for smaller jackpot wins where the slot attendant pays you, they don't check. If you play with out a players club card, nobody is going to demand to know who you are.

Those who go to GA and 'voluntary ban themselves' find that it really means nothing. They still go to the casinos, gamble, lose money and nobody cares. The only way to stop a problem gambler is intense and deep Freudian psychological counseling a few days a week or compete institutionalization where they are under the 24/7 care and not allowed to leave.
