I realize that some of the helpful hints may be common sense, but it is always good to have a reminder.

Winning is hard work - - there are no substitutes. – Dave Ramsey

To be successful playing craps, you must follow proper protocol. The most important element to be a successful craps player, as opposed to a lucky craps player, is to have and maintain DISCIPLINE!

    • SET GOALS: Set specific realistic goals and draw downs (in event of a loss). I suggest your win goal should be 20% of your buy-in. During an episode of Casino Secrets on the Discovery Channel a casino host said that people who go to Vegas with a $100 expecting to win $1,000 have it backwards. When the casino host plays, he takes a $1,000 to win $100. His question was how many people earn 10% on their money each day in the stock market.
    • PLAN: Have a Plan of Action to achieve your goal.
    • BANKROLL: Have an adequate bankroll to engage your plan. Never use more than 10% of your bankroll for a buy-in at any one session. NEVER gamble with money you cannot afford to lose. Scared money NEVER wins!
    • KNOWLEDGE OF THE GAME: Understand the bets you intend to make before you make the bet. Know the risk in making the bet before making it. No system is foolproof - craps is a game of chance. Just because you may have a mathematical advantage over the casino does not mean you are guaranteed to win. You can and will lose money. Even the students from MIT who counted cards had losing sessions.
    • BE FLEXIBLE: Be flexible with betting tactics based on what is happening at the table.
    • Stick to your plan; maintain discipline.
    • RISK MANAGEMENT: Exercise proper money management.
    • LOSS EXIT POINT: Have a pre-determined exit point if a losing session occurs, i.e., stop loss/limit loss. Losses do and will happen.
    • Eliminate emotional errors.
    • FOCUS: Stay focused on your goals and strategy no matter what else is going on at the table. If you reach your goal, leave the table.
    • Fend off distractions or temptations that interrupt your plan.
    • Do not get caught up in other people’s advice, suggestions, criticism or betting methods. Never increase your bets when you are losing. This is called "chasing." It usually ends up in a larger loss.
    • CRAPS IS A BUSINESS: Treat playing craps as a business.
    • HAVE PATIENCE. Be patient. Never rush to make a bet. Always be in control.
    • Toke (tip) the dealers early and often. This keeps them engaged in the game, and they should help you if you forget to either make a bet or take down a bet.
    • Know exactly what you are going to do before you walk into the casino and up to the craps table.
    • LUCK: Some “good luck” also helps.
    • Keep an eye on your chips at all times. There are professionals who steal chips from unsuspecting players.
    • Never drink (alcohol) while playing craps or any type of gambling. You wouldn't drink on the job or go to work after drinking. So why would you want to drink while playing craps?
I am certain there are many more tips that will help you to consistently win at the craps table. I just mentioned a few.
    Good Luck!

If you're looking for ways to increase your chances of walking away a winner from the craps table, there are several strategies and tips that can be helpful.

First and foremost, it's important to understand the basic rules and bets of craps. This includes understanding the different types of bets, such as pass line bets, come bets, and place bets, as well as the odds and payouts for each bet.

Once you have a good grasp of the game mechanics, there are several other strategies you can use to increase your chances of winning. One important strategy is to set a win/loss limit before you start playing, and stick to it. This can help you avoid chasing losses and keep your bankroll under control.

Another key strategy is to focus on the bets with the lowest house edge. This means placing bets on the pass line or come bets, which have a house edge of around 1.4%. Avoid bets with a higher house edge, such as the field bet, which has a house edge of around 5.5%.

It's also important to manage your bankroll wisely, by betting small and gradually increasing your bets as you win. Avoid making large, risky bets that could quickly deplete your bankroll.

Finally, it's important to approach the game with a positive attitude and a sense of fun. Remember that craps is a game of chance, and while there are strategies that can increase your chances of winning, there are no guarantees. So, relax, have fun, and enjoy the experience of playing craps.
