Intro History of poker/gambling

hi! good to meet everybody and introduce myself - basically collect poker and gambling books (abt 1,400) so far - as for playing skills, mediocre recreational player at best. .

 

Nice, tell us later about some of your favorites (take some cover pics too).

 

Thanks. Two of my favorites are:

1) science v luck - a short story by Mark Twain in 1871 that is a trial to determine the amount of skill level in gambling;

2) a treatise from 1895 that looks at the mathematics of five card stud;
