following larrys's great idea, i'm posing this question to all of you:

how can we make this site better?

i've been here from the start and really think this place has a lot of potential, but every time it seems to be gaining some traction, the momentum dies down.

i love the idea of an uncensored gambling forum where you can discuss any ideas no matter how crazy they may seem because that's how you find those rare golden nuggets of information that change the way you gamble forever.

so let's hear it, shoot away!

FACE hit the head on the nail over at the Wizard's. You have to let everyone say his piece, no matter how different, to comfortably open up to the group.

So many times, people a lot smarter than the Wizard suggested other ways to directly solve his math problems, etc. But they left after a post or two when the Wizard and company found something snide and standoffish to say. Or just ignored them. It's too late for the Wizard. Not too late for here.

Like FACE said, if you keep jumping on people, we'll always be talking to ourselves. WoN thinks he's sniffing out trolls. On the contrary, he's creating them with his self-fulfilling prophecies of doom and gloom.

What I like about this site, and I think it should keep up is the fact that there is no agenda, and no one trying to protect us from "faulty" info. Its like real life..let the buyer beware.

Also with people being able to voice their opinion unfiltered.....sometimes it gets personal...and I think that it was a genius move to preserve the intent of a thread..to break off personal attacks into "xxxxx vs yyyyy"

therefore there is no censoring and the flow of the original thread is preserved and doesnt get off track.

So for example I would expect the post about me being a 'jew" would be shunted off to the thread that is already in effect"larryS vs OAB".

Also I am not totally sold on the imported posts from other sites in order to fill in a section. Its minor....but it makes the site look shady...especially when you go to the horse racing section, and see a post for the first time that gives an opinion on a race that already ran a few days before.

Great idea. We look forward to receiving everyone's feedback on how we can improve the site for everyone.

We've been doing that from the start and will continue to do so. The word uncensored has been in our slogan from the day we launched because we mean it.

We ended this a little while ago.

Please keep the feedback coming, folks. We are all ears.

Here is another thought. I dont know the cost. But how about making this site a "one stop site" for gamblers both experienced and inexperienced.
    So have things like
1- a parlay calculator for sports
2-a horse racing calculator for exactas, trifects, superfectas
3-possibly articles on basic rules of craps, roulette , bj. for newbies
4-a section on casino deals....like room rate packages that surface..at first you can offer to casinos as a service/and post for free..and later charge the casino....if they get a good response they will be happy to pay you going forward. Of course you would be able to decide if its a real good deal or just the standard stuff where the casino is looking for free advertising.

i actually suggested this before! great minds think alike! someone mentioned that newbies could just use wikipedia, but thinking about it again, wikipedia is a bit too academic, technical, and boring. a proper guide written by actual experts that was simple to understand and follow, fun and exciting to read (possibly with interesting real-world stories), and stickied by the admins for everyone to see would definitely drive extra traffic and engage newbies as well.

It is certainly our intention to make this site a one-stop-shop for all gambling-related needs, so any ideas to further that goal are welcome.

We are not familiar with these tools, would anyone happen to know where we can source these tools to add to our site? Please let us know and we'll add them right away.

If our members who are experts in a specific gambling-related field are willing to write such an article for that field's Forum, we will sticky it so that it stays permanently at the top of each respective Forum. Are there any expert members here who would be kind enough to write a detailed article on the basics of their respective field? If so, please don't wait for our permission, go right ahead and create the new Thread and we'll sticky it to the top.

Would this fall under the current Casino Forum, a new Sub-Forum of the Casino Forum, or under its own Forum? We are open to creating new Forums and Sub-Forums as needed.

Please note that our expertise is in managing Forum communities, not in Gambling, so we may require assistance from our expert gambling members.

Thank you for these suggestions, we greatly appreciate them.

the horse racing section just got a post today of someone asking for the preakness trifects....that was 2 weeks ago
Unlike general qwuestions in poker or blackjack.......questions on horse racing get dated very quickly.
so harvesting posts from other sites does not work well on horse racing threads or even sports gambling sections because of the timeliness of the posts

That thread is from last month.
We deactivated the RSS Syndication last month so this is no longer an issue.
If it's a PC application, then we unfortunately won't be able to integrate it into our site. It would need to be an online script of some sort for us to be able to integrate it here. Any other ideas we could look into?

Google " horse racing wager calculator" and you come up with numerous websites that have these type calculators online, at their websites. You could link to them I suppose . I am definitely no webmaster, that's your job....LOL. Or you could post a link to the original page I gave you and guys could download from that . It's a very small file, only takes a second to get

We're obviously not expecting our members to do the work for us. We can do the integration here if it's an online script, that's no problem as all. But we're not gambling experts, so we don't know which calculators are legitimate and helpful and which ones aren't to be trusted. That's why we're asking for input from our expert members who can guide us on which ones to integrate. So we aren't expecting our members to do the integration, just to point us in the right direction since your Google search -- for example -- yields a lot of results.
