This thread is for hopefully, Scobe and anyone else who believes it's possible to win consistently, gambling on dice. But this thread is for a non-flinger of the dice... somebody who refuses to throw the damn things hisself, but wants to know how best to bet on (somebody else) as the shooter.

From first entering a Vegas casino, what should I be looking for among so many craps tables? Let's say it's 11AM, midweek. Then what? What am I looking at and for? Walk me through some routine of observation, leading up to to my first bet... Then, the first bet. How much, why, how, on what, and other details... please. Thank you

The key to winning is to determine where guys like Harley are playing, go to the tables and bet the opposite side of the line from them. If they Play Pass -you play Don't Pass. If they place numbers you lay them.

Hey Mr.AK47, I think I played craps with you last summer at the Orleans. Remember fish gave you some pointers and you made a ship load of money. Aren't you my main man Ted Nugent?

No drunks, no smoking, fewer than 5 players, no crying men, friendly crew. K.I.S.S., or Occam's razor. Keeping things simple and direct.

Pressit, I like KISS and to the point. Your summary scored 11 out of 10 with me. But no drunks and not even any side-stream smoke sounds like Mary Poppins. Um, yeah, I'm a non-smoker. And no crying men... LOL. And, so what are your views on tipping the friendly crew?

I always tip. I use to have this time consuming formula, I have now made it simple enough that I don't need a calculator. Let's say I bought in for $500, and colored up $1500. I subtract my $500 buy-in from the $1500 = $1000. I tip 5% of the $1000= $50. I also tip if I'm the shooter, but not all the time but enough. Small PL bet with odds. Now if they are not appreciative of my small jesters of good will, no tip. I only ever had one run-in with a dealer. It was years ago at the Bellagio, really not sure what his problem was, he made some off the wall remark that my toss would be tolerated way back when and I'd be told to leave. So I asked the box if there was something wrong with my toss, he said no.

Seriously who would want to be a casino dealer, yeah I know the money is good, but all the BS the have take from the players and management. Short story. Last August I was at the Bellagio, I really like their tables. I'm at SL3, and on the opposite end is this Russian who signed a marker $20k. It was a $10 table most everyone there is betting $10 - $25, but not the Russian.

First he had a accent, then he was throwing money all over the table barking bets. The dealer handling his bets misplace 1 of his bets, the shooter throws the dice the results called, this Russian just goes viral on the dealer. Yelling and screaming, berating him infront of everyone, the dealer just stood there he tried to explain but this Russian wasn't hearing it. The bet in question wasn't that big a deal in the overall bet, the Russian watched the dealer place his bets and didn't catch the mistake. So what does management do, oh Mr. Russian we are so sorry, what can we do to please you; just couldn't kiss his ass enough. The dealer was replaced and he didn't return to the table. After the Russian leaves I asked my dealer, why do you guys put up with that sort of BS. He looked off and said the guy bought in for $20k, and the dealer made a mistake. I said the Russian acted like a total ass, the dealer said that's true, but he also bought in for $20k.

    Tony -

I know NOT what your attitude is towards the poster of these videos is -

However , I DO know what MY attitude is -

And I will share that with all : -

I am relatively ' new ' to casino craps - as I have only been involved for at the most 1 year before Jerry Patterson retired -

I mention JP because it was HIS program that I purchased circa 2010 or so -

On 1/1/11 Jerry retired and sold his client list to others -

NOW - BEFORE, DURING and AFTER my purchase of the " PARR " Home practice / learning material -

KogaNinja came on the scene and HE GREW with and on ME during his candid videos of his trials and errors that he experienced during HIS DI journey -

HIS videos WERE and WILL continue to be - refreshing, enlightening, beneficial and very informative to ME as I am MOST certain OTHERS ! -

Furthermore - he has adopted the " sweetest, most accurate, controlled throw of ALL who I have witnessed shooting the dice -

I make THIS claim SOLELY from the observations I have made from HIS POSTED VIDEOS -

    I could be WRONG - However - I DOUBT THAT ! -

I have had the honor to be able to shoot with some of the " Better - if not Great " shooters of the present time -

Among them they answer to screen names such as :

Howard Rock'N'Roller, Wizard, BigBen, 8x8x8, LeftyAJ, LuckyLady, Pappyvanwinkle, CrapsForever, rcsshankar, Amato to name a FEW !

There are OTHERS whose names escape me at the moment -

And I humbly apologize if I did NOT mention YOUR name / handle here -

BUT - THIS is NOT about THEM / YOU -

    THIS is about HIM -

    KogaNinja -

The individual who took time from his life to share his craps experiences with US and - more personal - ME -

To KogaNinja - from the bottom of MY heart - is a MOST profound " THANK YOU " -

Thank You for sharing your ' ups and downs' and learning curves with the rest of us !

    Most Sincerely !

    Well, Ricky - Dicky -

ALLOW ME to take a WILD GUESS here -

As I said - but apparently YOU have NOT been paying even remote attention to what I wrote -

I have followed KogaNinja since shortly after he began posting -

And - Ricky - I am going to burst your bubble here -

IT was NONE other than YOUR SECOND BEST FRIEND -

WHO would THAT be ??????????????????? -

Well - let us go back a few years when KogaNinja was espousing " THE BEST " DI ? DC program of the day -

And THAT was - " Golden Touch Craps " -

AND - that was WHEN Frank Scoblete, Dominick and Howard along with OTHERS were " GTC " -

IN ANSWER to YOUR QUESTION -

" FRANK SCOBLETE and the GTC Group " !

How does THAT grab you, DICK ?

Snake why don't you ask him who helped him out with his shooting in person, you know that he lives in Vegas, don't you? If you did know that have you ever played craps with him?
You know, why don't you take a lesson from him,.... He may be able to help you out with your shooting! By the way you could always repost that photo that you said was me, when you never even met me.

It just goes to show what kind of person you are, I guess if you ever do meet me a apology will be coming!

    Rick -

It is quite obvious to me - that with each and every passing day - each and every post that you make -

YOU are - for whatever reason - becoming More and More - of a ' sock-puppet - for Harley -

Does NOT Harley have a ' voice ' of HIS OWN - OR - is he banned from spewing his own feces on these forums -

WHY do YOU have to be HIS ' mouthpiece / spokesperson ' ? -

Regardless - in response to your above numerated questions - MY responses are :

    1. WHY ?
    2. YES
    3. NO
    4. WHY ?
    5. Possibly
    6. NOW THAT is a thought ! - BE CAREFUL for WHAT YOU WISH FOR !
    7. Hardly / Never Happen !

An obtuse answer but a valuable one ....in my opinion....never drink alcohol and play craps....or any other gambling. Alcohol is a depressant...and it depresses your ability to be aware of your surroundings, and depresses your ability to make sound rational decisions. It depresses your ability to remember to stick to your gameplan.and DEPRESSES YOUR ABILITY TO MAKE QUICK DECISIONS

craps is a game that involves quick decisions. Even if you are keeping it simple. You have to be able to say take me down, or press it, or up one unit, or buy the 10.....etc. It can be a fast moving game. Besides normal fatigue....why make it worse with alcohol.

A die hitting one of your chips and knocking it to a neighbors spot.....less chance of noticing that when fatigue and alcohol meet in your brain.

Betting the hard 10, and not noticing that it came down, and then the hard 10 comes out and you are wondering why you didnt have a chip on it....you never replenished the bet.

If people are really serious about making money, and they realize casinos give free drinks for a reason.....they dont drink. They realize the casinos want you to drink because drinking allows you to make bad decisions....and that is good for the casino in the long run. Alcohol depresses your brains ability to exhibit discipline. A GAMBLER with impaired discipline is the friend of the casino.

Even A SINGLE DRINK IMPAIRS DECISIONS

there are people who will swear that they do better with a few drinks "to lossen them up".....that is medically impossible.
    Its just a false rationalization.

Craps was my game every week in atlantic city from1980 -1998 before i moved to california and go to reno every week...and switched to sports betting and poker as my mainstay
I personally havent had a drink at the table or before going to a table....for 40 years.
