Frank,....here is the problem that most guys that play craps all of the time have - when we talk to players that played in AC at the time you said the Captain had his roll nobody ever heard about it.

Then when we ask some of your old instructors about the Captain, none of them ever met him. Now I have a very bad habit of asking questions that will get to the bottom of a lot of things that are written on the different craps boards. I go about that by asking a lot of different players questions and when things don't add up the only rational conclusion I can come to when something doesn't add up is that it didn't happen.

Frank some times you are better off not reporting on something that you can't prove. There are way too many things that just don't add up and you would think by now you would have had credible testimony by some one that didn't work for you. If I wrote that I had a 160 roll wouldn't you want proof that it really happened? The simple fact that GTC was based mainly on your character the Captain, you would have thought that you would have paraded him around like a proud peacock, showing him off any time you had a class!

That would be just good business sense, a personal endorsement from what would have been a world record at the time, would have put your school on top of the big heap of on axis DI schools that were popping up. There are plenty of times that someone will say that the guy that just got done shooting had a 60 roll that in all reality turned out to only be a 39 roll. The reason for that is because nobody was tracking the table when it happened.

There are very few players that track tables and when I'm asked, I will tell anybody just how many rolls there really were. Even the dealers get it wrong all of the time. So Frank did you get caught up in what was happening and get it wrong? Or were you tracking the roll to get it right?

There are plenty of rolls that I've had that I will not post because there was nobody around that could witness the roll.

The other reason for not posting rolls is because I see way too many so-called random rollers having the same type of rolls.

Frank,....Lets get one thing straight again, I'm not attacking you, just questioning your story about the Captain! My questioning would go away if a few players came forward and all confirmed your story. Now that would have been very easy to do when you first wrote about the Captain, but now days it's just about out of the question! One reason is because you buried him and any hope of anybody questioning him is now out of the picture. The guy is supposedly now dead, and you still will not tell the world who he was, but the real kicker is in your new book you dug up all of the dirt on some of the DI's around the country. Isn't it ironic that you could do that, but not tell everybody who he was!

I can't wait to read your new book or see that video that you keep writing about.

So SnakeEyes did you wake-up this morning and say what the hell did I write last night? You seem to think that you can call anybody all the names you want to, but when you meet them in person you can't apology fast enough. For some odd reason you seem to go on the attack after sundown.

Your not a cop anymore so we do not have to answer any of your questions! You got away with it when you were a cop but those days are over with. If you want to ask Harley anything you can ask him in person the next time you bump into him.

"Toward's the (end) of my days with GTC, I became disenchanted with the way the bookeeping of the business was being handled. I was learning at home experimental tosses that friends from the PARR group were doing, such as the end shot, and off axis tosses, and not practicing my on axis GTC toss.

The only toss that I could use in front of the GTC intructors, and Frank and Dom, was my stick right on axis toss. Since I didn't practice it much, I began losing my muscle memory and it did affect my toss...That's what Frank was commenting about. Dom also confided in me and said, "Howard you were the best out of all of us, why did you mess with your toss?"

After I left GTC, I played solo for a while. So, after I mastered all the off axis tosses, I practiced like crazy and got my on axis toss back. One of my world records (that were erased from the GTC site was, 84 rolls without a 7) That was with my ON Axis toss from stick right, which is still my favorite toss...although, I also tossed a 65 roll from stick left which isn't too shabby.

At the end of the book Frank says that I was right all along.

Unfortunately, I never met The Captain,The Arm, and the "crew," they played before 2002, which was when I met Frank. I did meet "Satch" who is a great guy, and we became friends. He was the youngest member of "The Crew' "

Really? Now we are brining in family members into this foray? We can do better than that.

On-axis, PARR, off-axis Little Joe, Dr. Z or Dice Magic. For me PARR is just a beautiful shot to observe, and it bothers me that for whatever reason I just sux at it. I said this before PARR is similar to a fine Itilian handgun with all of its 30 moving pieces. When one part fails to work properly the gun she no fire.

The off-axis shot is a no brainer. First it is much easier to shoot and is far more forgiving than on-axis throws. My personal best was several years ago at the Bellagio. It was about 8 PM, the table was full, I was was using Dice Magic from SR1, and held the dice for well over an hour before I threw a 7. Granted an hour plus of shooting doesn't occur often so that was a bit odd, but every time I threw the dice the shot felt good, you just knew before they came to a rest you were not going to hear a 7 being called. That last shot I recall watching the dice fly down the table and that inner voice telling me it doesn't look good. A lot of players got well that night, especially those on the SL side of the table. At one time Walt made a Dice Magic DVD, it was marketed through Jerry Patterson, Patterson sold his business and has since retired. Walt Diem has recently passed away and so has DM.

Now my other favorite off-axis throw is Little Joe. It is fun shot, nothing complicated about it, and you can shoot from any position on the table, and it is a money maker. I never could shoot from table, it was just an intimidating position, until I learned LJ. Bob & Joe are good people and they put on a great seminar. Not sure what they charge now but as I told Bob, one cannot not afford to take their seminar. Sure you will have you PSO, but IMHO you'll have less of them.

Dr. Z is interesting, has some good techniques, but the physical end of the toss is not for me.

There is more to the above off-axis shot, but as they us to say many years ago in Philadelphia, "Gimbels doesn't tell Macy's".

Frank Scoblete - I am having fun with your novel, but I am finding it hard to use as a good craps reference without an Index Why didn't you include an Index in your book ?!

 

Okay, Harley, if Dom actually wrote to you that the book is fiction, I can prove everything I said about him, with documentation, and when I do you must acknowledge on these pages and anywhere else you post that I told the truth about the man, the amount of money he stole from me and that I did not make anything up in these regards. Are you willing to follow through on this?

Snake-eyes, I will send you a copy of what I am sending Harley so you can be the objective reader. What do you think?
