It is the way to go if your goal is to learn about the nature of randomness. What you end up learning is how characteristics like hot or cold numbers come and go. There is no magic progression that works all the time. You will learn that these same comings and goings of hottest numbers also apply to common things like the Red/ Black, sleeping dozens, single occurrences in the columns / dozens, and similar characteristics in your own pet groups of numbers. To put it all in a nutshell everything comes and goes at different times. So learning to observe the conditions and the relevant timing of it all is a good thing to learn from repeaters.

Whichever way you are going to go about beating roulette, you need experience. Take Turbo, Gizmotron and Mr J as an example. They must have 80 years combined experience in studying it and I mean real study, experimenting, testing etc.. The smart thing to do would be to read their posts and take the best bits from each. It could take several years but you will save decades and get your answer a lot quicker than doing it all on your own. In their own way, they have all shared enough to put together something that you would need to be pretty stupid to fu*k up. It's a process and you need all the tools to do a good job because what you don't know or can't react/think quickly about will be your undoing at the tables and that's guaranteed!
