Casino Message Board Gun Fights

Anyone reading message boards knows that some battles are being fought by the same people from message board to message board. There are posters who just don't like each other and their posts go into heated attack mode. If message boards were old-time western towns almost every day would be OK Corral Day.

I guess it is not too hard to see why these battles occur. An individual explains his/her idea of how to gamble or what casinos are doing and then some other individual disagrees with the first individual's thesis. No one likes to be criticized so the first individual shoots back somewhat. Emotions start to flare. Given a bunch of posts the results go like this:

FIRST POSTER: I believe that psychic powers can overcome blackjack or any casino game. Here are my reasons (he gives his reasons).

SECOND POSTER: Your idea is not true. All the psychic research has been a waste of money.

FIRST POSTER: No it hasn't. We all have the gift and we just have to use it.

SECOND POSTER: If psychic ability to beat casino games existed there wouldn't be casinos. Your idea is nonsense.

FIRST POSTER: Why do you call this nonsense? What are you, some kind of expert?

SECOND POSTER: You don't have to be an expert to see when something is stupid. Only idiots would believe in psychic ability.

FIRST POSTER: So you think I am an idiot?

SECOND POSTER: If you believe this nonsense you are an idiot.

FIRST POSTER: No, you are the idiot. You think you are so smart?

SECOND POSTER: Well, I'm smarter than you that's for sure. People like you give gamblers bad ideas. You probably have dopey-gambler DNA.

FIRST POSTER: You think you are funny? Most posters here are laughing at you and that's why no one else has jumped in here.

SECOND POSTER: They haven't jumped in because they know you are a jerk.

FIRST POSTER: You calling me a jerk hurts my reputation. Do that again and I will sue you.

SECOND POSTER: How can you sue me? For what? Telling the truth? You are a jerk, jerk, jerk! How do you like that? Besides Mr. Dope, you don't know my real name.

FIRST POSTER: Yeah, I do. Your name is "My Mother was an Ape!"

MODERATOR: Both you guys are off this board.

NEW BOARD:

FIRST POSTER: You can beat casino games using ESP.

SECOND POSTER: Don't listen to this jerk (and on it goes).

 

Seriously ... a few years back I met with the Texas Attorney General's office concerning consumer fraud in the gaming industry ... they advised me that education is the best safeguard against fraud

... And to that point, I've been a consumer advocate for craps the last few years and message boards are one of the best mediums to get to serious craps players ... if it wasn't why would Frank Scoblete and Heavy not also be posting on the same message boards to advance their marketing or sales agenda

Some people just can't handle the truth - or our evidence affects their business model

.... eventually personal attacks are made at the messenger and not at the issues .... Mudslinging is the cheapest form of rebuttal - especially for those that are in denial and have no facts to support their argument
