Mickey claimed he could snag Room 861 at the Horseshoe in Las Vegas for fifty dollars a night. Since 861 is an Executive Suite King, I have my doubts, but I will donate $200 to him if he can show a receipt demonstrating that he procured that room for that amount. I'm actually hoping that he can, but I doubt it.

I'll check in each week to see if mickey posted the receipt. All I ask is that he put me on the room so I can verify things. He can just reserve the room and never check in. He'd net $150 that way.

    He has a 90-day countdown.

    Good Luck, Mickey!

Is that a quote from mickey, or did you make that up?

Are you requiring a receipt, or just a print-out of a reservation?

That's unclear according to what you wrote above, since canceling a reservation would not necessarily cost $50.

What's the significance of room 861?

A note on your trip report thread states that it was edited by a moderator several hours after you posted it.

Do you know who edited it and why?

Anyway, I found the passage below within your report...

You wrote that you booked a room at a good rate, then got upgraded at check-in.

So what was your rate? Was it close to the rate that mickey posted?

    Show your receipt.

There's a thread over on PFA in the Casinos & Las Vegas section called "Best Ways to Seven Stars or Diamond." Druff was showing people how to get to those levels using video poker. I jumped in on page 10 and showed a little about how to get those tier credits on advantage slots. That way you make the card levels and make a profit too.
And you get a much better tier credit rate on the slots than video poker.

I hadn't played CZR in years. But because of that thread I decided to stop into a CZR property, Harrah's Kansas City, late January, 2023. I went and got the slot card. I wasn't a new member because I had joined years ago. They had advantage slots so I spent a few hours spinning off some pretty good plays.

The offers starting hitting my mailbox in late March for the month of April. I didn't respond to anything in April. They sent me more offers for May. You can see them in the pic below. They sent me 4 two-day packages, some freeplay and meal comp. They'll send the same thing for June. No telling how long those offers will keep coming. If I lay a good enough track record they will keep coming forever.

As you may know, Horseshoe Las Vegas is a sister property to Harrah's Kansas City. They have the same players club, Caesar's Rewards. And they cross-market.

If I were to call a Bally's casino host and ask them what kind of rate I can get on an Executive King Suite, they will ask me my card number. Then they will check my track record. Then they will make an offer of either a discounted or comped room. From experience, my guess is it would be comped.

I'll even go so far as to name the advantage slots they had at Harrah's Kansas City. As I do with every casino I have a list of their games in my notebook on iphone. Slot pros will recognize these games as legitimate advantage play machines:

Buffalo Link, Hex3, Regal, Ascension, Scarab, Ocean Magic, Piggies, Treasure Box, Boost, Timber Wolf, Wolf Run Eclipse.

Redietz, AP's don't brag about how much they pay for hotel rooms. They brag about how many free rooms they get. This is what's going on right under your nose.

In the above post I said Bally's. That's the old name of the property. Sorry.

The rack rate in May at Harrah's Kansas City is $110 midweek/$170 weekend. Notice on my room comp for May offer it says any day of the week. That means they consider me a high level gambler. Low rollers only get midweek offers. So they are comping me rooms that go for $170 a night.

Rack rates for other casino hotels I work:

Choctaw Durant, $189 midweek, $429 weekends, mickeycrimm rate $0.00. They continually send me emails for free rooms any day of the week. They have 3 locations, Durant, Grant and Pecola. I usually spend a couple of days at each location when I'm down that way.

Downstream Casino. This casino is located in the very northeastern tip of Oklahoma just a few miles from Joplin, Missouri. They send me 8 days a month any day of the week. Their rack rates are $129 midweek, $159 weekends, mickeycrimm rate $0.00.

I went on the caesars.com website, and didn't enter my card number.

The room rate calendar for Horseshoe LV shows rooms for under $50 ($32 - $47) on fifteen of the remaining dates in May.

This is for anybody, you don't even need a Rewards card...but the rates would be lower if you do.

Rates vary by room if you want to specify a room type, but if you book a $32 room and get upgraded to room 861 at check-in, like the ditz claims he did, then boom you have your King Executive Suite at under $50.

Big whoop. So easy even a martian can do it.

Redietz, thanks for this Horseshoe challenge. It got me to looking at what I can do with Caesar's Rewards. I've already told about running action at Harrah's Kansas City and how they are sending me room and meal comp plus freeplay. This was after many years of not playing a CZR property.

So I went online to my Caesar's Rewards account today to snoop around. I'm just Gold Card which is low man on the totem pole. I have 584 tier credits. Since it is $5 per tier credit at HKC, that means I ran just a $2,920 wager while there. That's all it took to get them sending me the offers.

So then I went to their online booking site for Rewards members. I selected a Resort Executive Suite at Horseshoe Las Vegas for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th of July. A holiday weekend. This is the rate they offered me:

Perhaps I'm missing somethings, here, but what's the big deal about being able to capture comped hotel room in the Las Vegas? I've regular been comped high end standard room at Wynn, Venetian and Cosmopolitan, even on week-end, hey hey.

It looks like you are owed $200.

Don't take any wooden nickels...or a personal check from an account on Mars.

CZR has a status match with Wyndam. I'm Diamond at Wyndam so I just registered online and was approved for Diamond status with CZR. A CZR Diamond Card means resort fee's are waived nationwide. So I'm really getting a total free ride with CZR. I'll work them into my rotation.

Comps don't apply. I passed on a boatload of pricier rooms I have comped, saving them for July.

Room 861 -- go book it for $50. And put my name on the room.

And mickey, I have better rooms in LV in July than anything you mentioned. Comped. LOL.

Why don't you come on down and interview me on video regarding sports betting EV? You can borrow my room for the night while I stay elsewhere.

Mickey denigrated that 861 room by characterizing it as a "$50 room." I said that room is not $50. The proper value of the room would be whatever Horseshoe would write off as the value of mickey's comp. I wonder what that number might be.

I have better rooms in July, mickey. And I should have a documentary filmmaker with me. So come on down and we'll do that "EV" interview. I'll post dates here when I pin them down.

If you weren't so unsure of yourself and nervous over your welching, you'd never be putting up so many posts trying to splain your way out of it red.

All your posturing and wordsmithing over the "value" of 861 does nothing to eliminate the fact that you had to stay on-the-cheap for this trip, and you couldn't even afford resort fees.

    Wise up.

    LOL...what did I just predict?

And what's his reason for welching?...Oh, the rate has to be $50, not less.

Hey deadbeat...show your receipt, so we know what you paid for room 861.
