Bitcoin New to cryptocurrency: online casino telling me I have to deposit Bitcoin before I can withdraw?

Hi. I have been told that to withdraw from an online casino that I need to make a mini deposit in Bitcoin first. This goes against all I understand about cryptocurrency. Is this true?

 

Seems odd. Normally a regulated online casino use debt/credit cards and paypal etc to check person's name address D.O.B etc, though some might accept crypto as deposits, most people don't hold crypto and transactions are anonymous, so not really sure of your situation. Have you checked the site to find out who the regulators are? Be careful.
