I'll show you an algorithm that will help you see a random stream better but first let me explain it. I may tell you something you already know but stick with me.

A truly random stream will have an equal distribution of all possible outcomes, nothing new there, but what is not equal, is interval between repeats, intervals between numbers or groupings of numbers, and much more. Let's take something simple like a set of 8 numbers before we move to something more difficult like a roulette wheel. Let me ask if you think this set of numbers are random..... why or why not.

That is a challenge. The sequence above looks random, but actually is a random sequence of 35278614 then 1234 1234 1234. This only is revealed if you use a certain algorithm. One more important note first. A purely random stream can never be beat, never! The thing is, casino games are never purely random, they are pseudo random generators. They have sequence, and frequency flaws. In the next post I'll explain the algorithm....which can easily be done with paper and pen.

It is not real random. There are no repeats. In real random distributions of such a small sample as 8 you would get repeats. If you break a wheel up into 8ths you get 4 numbers for each 8th on a 36 numbered wheel. We all know that there are 12 streets or 6 double streets. You can relate to repeats far more believably in those formats.

Those things you suggest are sequence and frequency flaws are in fact the true characteristics of randomness. If I did not know better I would suggest that you are a psychologist trying a "power of suggestion" test and trying to debunk anyone that agrees with you. On the other hand you could be a closet control freak in search of narcissistic supply. Let's all hope that you can stand disagreement. It's not personal. It does not imply that you don't know something that we do. It's sort of like saying the world is flat and that I have an algorithm that proves this.

So fascinate us. Because I have a psychological experiment for you that discusses what random is and is not. Dazzle us.
